Mysore, Aug 13: There are no permanents friends, nor permanent enemies in politics. The Karnataka's 20-20 ruling agreement by JD(S) and BJP is history, but people may not forget the 'Dombarata' (circus) done by the politicians for power. Once the 20-month rule got over, the Gowdas denied power to the BJP which eventually led the latter to capture power through polls. Yeddyurappa's regime as CM of Karnataka may now be history too, but when both H D Kumaraswamy and Yeddyurappa hugged each other and shared garlands, it marked a new milestone in Karnataka politics, keeping in mind that by-poll for Lok Sabha is due on August 21, followed by general election for parliament next year.

Though it was a non-political programme, the appearance of both HDK and Yeddy on the same stage in a friendly manner raised many an eyebrow and surprised politial pundits in the state. JD(S) MLA Sa Ra Mahesh organised an event to inaugurate a community hall belonging to Sa Ra Associates. He invited some political leaders of BJP, JD(S), KJP and Congress, but the prime attractions were HDK and Yeddyurappa.

After the programme, Yeddyurappa speaking to daijiworld said that he and Kumaraswamy were never enemies. "Everything happens in politics, in the past also we were friends, now also we are friends, and we will remain friends in the future too," he said.

When asked whether he was supporting JD(S) candidate in the upcoming by-poll, he said that D K Shivkumar has asked KJP to support his brother (who is Congress candidate in by-poll). "But we all have to fight against Congress now. I have said in the assembly recently that all like-minded parties in the state should come together to defeat Congress. The by-poll has given us an opportunity to unite against Congress."

When Daijiworld spoke to H D Kumaraswamy, he said, "There are no permanent friends or enemies in politics, nothing wrong in uniting to fight against Congress in the state. We have no made any alliance, but joined hands to defeat Congress."
