Mangalore, Aug 13: The Lokayukta officials on Tuesday August 13 raided the office of the industrial promotion officer at Yeyyadi here and caught him red-handed accepting bribe.

The officer arrested is Vaman Nayak.

Jagadish, a resident of Kalladka needed a sanction letter from Nayak to set up a small industry. However, Nayak is said to have demanded Rs 5,000 for the letter.

Instead of giving into his demand, Jagadish complained to the Lokayukta.

Jagadish had also stealthily recorded his conversation with Vaman Nayak and passed it on to the Lokayukta as evidence.

Based on his complaint, the Lokayukta laid a trap for Nayak. On Tuesday, Jagadish approach Nayak with the said amount, and the Lokayukta officials caught him red-handed.

Further investigations are on.

Always publish proper photos of culprits showing his face. Whats the use of showing photo blocking his face by hands, towels etc. This wont serve the purpose.

    Jossey Saldanha,

In city like Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi a 30*40 ft site costs 80 - 100 Lakhs. Now just do a simple mathematics to calculate how much 3.5 acres of land costs. Don't be foolish like Amul Baby. I hope you are educated person and senior citizen of India.

Robert Vadra’s 3.5 acre land deal is alleged dubious because of fardulant records submitted to the bank. Nothing has been proved as yet and the bank has not even complained so why all this song and dance.
Please try to be a responsible opposition and not a bunch of NAUTANKIS……….

This guy is caught, seems to a small fish, but there is no doubt that 100% of those working in such positions are totally corrupt, and this is the black money which is pushing up land prices as it is always invariably pumped in real estate and gold making it impossible for the aam aadmi to even buy a decent house!!! Even junior officers are reported to have amassed 100s of crores of wealth in benami names if news reports are to be believed!!

Even if his income through such deals is even just 5000 per day on an average (tax free) imagine his total yearly income!!

whether it is big scam, big theft, heavy amount or light- scam\theft\bribe whatever.
Here the officer was caught red handed accepting a bribe and there is no two ways about it. It is criminal act and should be punished.
Same way when Vadra's involvement is proved, he should be taken to task. Until proven, he still remains innocent by law.
So it can be noted by DP.
What do you say Mr. D'Mello?

How much he has made so far, is any ones guess ? Let him spend part of the ill savings on the lawyer. But what about his job ? Any guaranty ? Lot's of question marks.
