Kundapur: Body of woman found in pond at Tekkatte

Kundapur, Aug 13: The body of a woman was found floating in a pond at Malyady near Tekkatte here on Tuesday August 13 in the morning.

The deceased has been identified as Jalaja Acharya (60), a resident of Kanchakarubettu, Tekkatte.

According to her neighbours, she stayed alone at her residence. However, they noticed that she was not at home for the past three days. They assumed that she had gone to visit her elder sister at Vakvady .

On Monday August 12, a search was conducted and the body was eventually found in the pond on Tuesday.

The cause of death remains unknown and sources say that she may have accidentally slipped into the pond while returning home.

Kota police arrived at the spot and registered a case.
