Facts and figures say different story about Gujarat. Gujarat may be leading in Infrastructure development but lags in all other fields. In education it is 15th, environment it is 5th and much below other states in sports, tourism, GDP, nourishment etc. In overall economic development Gujarat comes after Kerala, Maharashtra and Tamilnad. Only in publicity Gujarat comes first because lot of money is spent on this. In industrial development, number of projects have come up in Gujarat since 80s (I was part of at least 10 projects there between 80s & 90s) including Reliance and Essar and this is ongoing process since long.

If we have to really follow any model for development then we have to follow either Kerala or Maharashtra. Then if we talk of any Chief Minister who can be Prime Minister then Pratviraj Chavan fits into the slot for his sincerity and spotless career. He has much better qualities than Mr. Modi except for the oratory.

Let us not go based on the publicity but facts and figures. Moreover Gujarat forms less than 5 % of the India, but even this could not be number one in India. Then how you expect vast country like India can be no. 1 under Mr. Modi.

Only being rhetoric and with long speeches you cannot run the country.

Independence Day is not the day when you play politics. For everything there is a right time. Narendra Modi by openly challenging our PM, he has exposed his lust for power. 1. The so called "top-brass" of BJP leaders who seem unhappy at Modi's meteoric rise are more concerned about losing their grip on the party than about Modi's leadership or lack of it.
2. Nitish Kumar as a PM material ? He lost all credibility when he visited Pakistan that too after 26/11 Mumbai attacks. What is common between the state of Bihar and Pakistan ? Bihar neither shares geographical boundary with Pakistan nor trades with Pakistan. His visit was a mockery on those who have died in innumerous terrorist attacks in India. Besides, after 2 terms ( and a partial 3rd term if you count 2000 ), Bihar still ranks among the poorest state in human development index.
3. Indian voters have always been naive. If we truly believed in integrity, India wouldn't have ranked so high up in the corruption index. There wouldnt be multi billion dollar scams each year, and there would be no policy handicap or lack of strategy when it comes to safeguarding the life and liberty of its citizens.
4. It is strange that you mention about Yediyurappa who had the wrath of CBI thanks to the central government. But no mention of the Devegowda family who are worth billions ? I know of no politician in Karnataka who isn't worth a few crores . From Nijalingappa to Siddaramiah - everyone of them has been corrupt from head to toe. Atleast Yeddiyurappa paid a heavy price for his mistakes, what about others ?
5. So not wearing helmets is now "anti-national" activity, and saying " 5 soldiers are dead, not 5000!" by Shri Mani Shankar Aiyar is not anti-national ? How about resuming talks with Pakistan after 26/11 ? Or calling Osama as "Osamaji" ? Purposefully misleading the nation in Ishrat Jahan case ? and ruining the reputation of IB for the sake of vote bank. None of these are anti-national ?
6. If only the rich gets richer in Gujarat,then a good majority of people in Gujarat must be rich since they elected Modi thrice !

My intentions are neither to promote "khaki chaddis" nor "kadi topis". No politician in India i know of who is not corrupt, so it becomes important to chose the better ones among the worse. I have always voted for leaders and not parties. I still consider PV Narisimha Rao as the architect of modern India, and i voted for him. I voted for ABV as i thought he would reverse the damage done by Devegowda and Gujral. I voted for MMS in 2004 as i naively believed he will write a new chapter in our nation's history. I refrained from voting in 2009 and i would have refrained once again had our situation been not so dire. Who are the other alternatives ? The Gandhi family trio who are solely running on their family names ? Or another term for ManMohan Singh who has proved to be nothing short of a disaster. Modi is a proven administrator and that alone will get him my vote.

RSS knows that Modi is the last chance of BJP to play the communal cards.
