Mangalore is on the verge of getting a new nick-name ''death chamber'' possibly for several wrong reasons .. more so 'cos it's a coastal state with so many precious lives lost in the distant past .. no lessons have been learnt and the trend is still continuing ... the mentality of the people needs a complete overhaul. Possibly we will all blame it for lack of infrastructure. It was never like this before. Sadly, there isn't a single day when there is no report of accident(s) .. minor or major .. in the medias. Fatality seems to be the fashion of today .. I see the way things are changing, they are changing at an alarming speed, it is really difficult to put a brake on this crazy frenzy but certainly NOT IMPOSSIBLE. Even in major metropolis ... Bombay - for example where I reside, should have been rated as a metropolis with a lot of commotion .. touchwood ... where the hustle and bustle of life is 1,000 times more than Mangalore ... but out-of-the-blues, it is a disciplined metropolis .. unlike coastal Mangalore which is getting its name defamed. Something needs to be done immediately before the situation turns into a catastrophe or a total ''gone case'' type. Somebody should help Mangalore restore its serene origin.
