Bantwal: Youth from Nandavar dies in Saudi accident

Bantwal, Aug 16: A youth from Nandavar in Panemangalore here died in a road accident in Saudi Arabia.

The deceased is identified as Mohammed Irshad (23), son of Abdul Hameed.

On August 5, Irshad who was working for a cargo firm went by company truck for some work and was later reported missing. His mobile phone was also switched off and it is said that he did not even get in contact with his family and friends.

The family was unable to contact the office where Irshad was working, as it was shut on the occasion of Ramadan.

Later, after work resumed, the family received a fax stating that their vehicle had met with an accident. The accident took place when another vehicle collided head-on with Irshad's truck.The other vehicle driver, who was from Syria, also lost his life.

Irshad's father Abdul Hameed had worked abroad for 35 years, but as due to health problems, he returned home. Among his 4 sons, Irshad was the eldest one. He went abroad three-and-a-half years ago for work. Initially, for two years he worked in Doha and later shifted to Saudi where he was working as a driver.

Irshad was planning to come back next month to attend his relative's wedding.

All the necessary arrangements are being done to bring the body back to India, said relatives.
