Mandya: J R Lobo, S M Krishna campaign for Ramya

Daijiworld Media Network – Mandya (VM)

Mandya, Aug 17: Mangalore MLA J R Lobo as well as former chief minister S M Krishna along with state Congress leaders on Friday August 16 put up a united effort in their campaign for the Mandya by-poll to be held on August 21. The leaders urged the public to show their full support to Congress candidate Ramya.

J R Lobo in his address, "It is the JD(S) who is responsible for this election as their members resigned. Several crores of money is wasted because of this election and it is the people who have to suffer. The money spent on the election is a wasteful expenditure as Lok Sabh elections will once again be held in 9 months."

He further added, "Congress is always stable and treats people of all castes and religions as equal. The party has not only struggled for Independence but has continued the same momentum and worked for the development of the country.

"It is the Congress that is responsible for the development of the country. It has always kept development as its priority and aim. People should support Congress in order to defeat divisive forces," he added.

S M Krishna, who had been pursuaded by Congress leader Digvijay Singh to campaign, said, "By making me win elections and sending me to Vidhana Sabha, people of Mandya strengthened my presence in politics, due to which I was fortunate to be the chief minister and central minister. Similarly, I urge you to support Ramya in the election and send her to Lokh Sabha.

"Congress party's history lies in the Independence struggle. It has always engaged itself in implementing programmes for the people. Congress government under chief minister Siddaramaiah has brought about various programmes in favour of people in a short period. In order to continue that, it is important that voters support Congress," he said.

"Various allegation were made against Ramya when she decided to contest for the election. But Ramya without considering all this, has taken the election as a challenge and people should keep this in mind and support her wholeheartedly," he added.

"The news of JD(S) joining hands with BJP is confirmed. JD(S) leader Deve Gowda cannot cheat people," said Krishna.

KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar, former speaker B L Shankar, M V Rajshekaran, Chella Kumar, N A Haris, Dr Sharan Prakash Patil, Dr Sudakar, professor Sanadhi, Atmanada, T K Sudheer, Denis D’Silva, Dennis D’Silva, Nelson Monteiro, Mohan Mendon among others were present.

After the convention, J R Lobo along with other leaders visited Mandya bishop Dr George, Snehalaya home for children, churches and religious institutions.

    Some people
Don't blame Lobo Maam for campaigning and all for Ramya ...O.K.Is there a chart for MLA...Do this or do that?
If some MLA can build synthetic tracks and rope ways for over twenty years in our region and still not complete it why can't Lobo Maam campaign for a 'beautiful'(note beautiful) candidate of his own party?
Now it's o.k if it is limited to canvassing. If he turns a 'poet' like me after that, then there will be a problem. In any case he is not a writer I believe....
Also Jaggery is cheap in Mandya
and Onion in cheap in Hiriyur and Challekere and near by areas.Lobo maam may have gone there to discuss these matters also so that Mangaloreans can benefit.
Let Lobo Maam travel and get experience....
How can he function if you blame him even if an ant sneezes or farts in your vicinity?? Got it?

I am against film personalities entering public service ( my personal opinion). Through ACTING in films, actor/actresses get acquaintance with people. This acquaintance has been exploited by all political parties. Given the current scenario, I would still support a congress candidate for Mandya LS over JD-S and BJP combined candidate.

Just couple of days back we recalled political independence of India. India is a youngest country to get freedom from colonial powers. India has achieved a lot in these 66 years. No Country in the world, with similar years of freedom has recorded such development n progress as India achieved in 66 years. India in 66 years of Independence has been looked upon by world powers as a potentially super power in couple of decades time. There are problems with all sovereign countries, but India has always been impressive to get global recognition in shortest time despite problems. India is a difficult country to govern bcz of its diversity. Developed countries like USA, UK, etc. are free countries for more than two centuries. India would lead the world when it crosses its 100 years of Independence. To that extent we have to believe and keep working for India's glory. It is in this context that congress party assumes political superiority over its political opponents.

J.R. Lobo has been doing his work silently for his constituency. He has obligation to work for congress party whenever required. This obligation lead Lobo to Mandya. Hope this simple fact makes sense. Mr.Modi who came to Mangalore to canvas for BJP couldnt change electorates mind bcz electorate of Mangalore knew Mr.Lobo well. Three months of MLAship has been used well by Lobo to keep people to people contact and to collectively come to some policy making process. Democracy thrives better in this way. Constructive criticism is always for good but not biased criticism.

    Dear Mr. Lobo,
here you are! i was wondering where u disappeared after a few falicitations from your community organizations.
I thought you could be a better MLA than Mr. Bhat whom i have voted for in all the previous elections. believe me, i voted for you and not for Congress! you haven't done anything noticeable to Mangalore after you got elected. you were not there to comment on falling law and order situation in Mangalore, neither you were available to pacify the victims of excess rain and erosion! At least you could have taken a seat next to Mr. Khader during press conferences!
Enjoy this term! You will not be elected again!!

Very good observation Doctor. It shows she is unwillingly contesting election due to some external force.

She is absent from campaigning itself. Can people expect her to address their problems if she is elected tomorrow?

BJP have no guts to contest this election.when they saw huge crowd in congress rally, the become jealous.
JDS chief HDK also nervous after seeing the congress campaign.he started blaming congress for his candidate's defeat before the election itself means he already admitted his defeat. All anti congress people must know that there is no alternative for India for another 50 years. No one can rule India like congress. Jai ho congress.

Mangalore people are repenting now for not voting Bhat. Yogish Bhat silently worked for the people and society for 15 years, not expecting any media publicity. He kept away from functions, felicitations etc. People now realized their mistake. Current MLA do not have time to visit the rain victims, address the problems of the people.

    Dear Raj Shetty, Mangalore/Qatar.

I do share your sentiment but not your views about JR Lobo is not working for Mangalore constituency.

Last week he had come to Urwa market for the inspection, how to improve the quality of that market. Only the locals observed it and this has not appeared in the news paper nor any media web page.

Here, this might be a party call for him to canvass for Mandya seat in order to get the small percentage of vote of certain community, which JD party is enjoying.
