Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore

Mangalore, Aug 20: A security guard was hoodwinked into parting with Rs 18,000 in cash by two con men, that too inside a bank.

Sirinjilal (48) from Bihar, working as security guard at a building in Chilimbi here had been to SBI Bank branch at Lalbagh for money transfer when the incident took place.

Sirinjilal went to the bank in order to send money to his family. As he did not know to fill the bank slip, he sought other people's help and two unknown persons came forward to fill the slip for him.

Trusting them, the guard gave them the money and the two persons filled the bank challan. After filling the slip, the thieves handed over the slip and a bundle of notes wrapped in a paper and then they left the place.

However, while depositing the money at the counter, the security guard found that the bundle did not have the money, instead there were pieces of paper in the shape and colour of currency notes!

A case has been registered in Barke police station. Efforts are on to catch the con men.

The pangs of hunger suffered by the poor family members of the Security guard who is cheated will surely not be noticed by God. He always listens to the cry of the poor. The cheats will pay for this heartless act. Having money they never be able to eat food!!!!!!

Well now this is a new tricky way for robbing the poor innocent people as our India banks are not bothering at all about the safety of the bank and about the safety of their customers and of their bank staffs as most of the banks in the town lack of security guard with gun in his hand at the entrance door of the bank very few bank have this kind of facility I saw this system in the Central Bank of India in the Branch at Arouza Building Hampankatta and may be it is also available only in the state bank located near the DSC office.

All the banks must compulsory deploy the security guard with gun in his hand at the entrance of the banks and he must observe each and every one even literate or illiterate people and should not hesitate to question about their service they are in need from the bank that time it is possible to nab the illegal entrants visiting to the bank. As I know in Italy all banks have security guard with gun and also all the banks are well secured if a person wish to enter the bank he as to go by closed revolving safety glass box inside that box on the floor a round circle is existing and gun man was open the round box door that time only one person at a time enter in side the box and stand in the middle of the round circle at that time only the entrance door of the bank will open and inside the bank security gun take care of person who entered the bank.

So let here in India all the must remember if they will not deploy a gun man security in their bank one day a day will come and in the broad day light during busy business schedule the robbers will sneak inside the and time every body in the bank will face danger to their life. So right now the bank authorities must arrange the full alert of security gun man in their bank and in their all branches.

Better to hang a Board stating that Don't entertain to fill-up any slip or talk with un- known person inside the Banks. The bank security inside the premises are good for nothing.Any body can go & see in any bank that how much alert they are.

Do you think our Banks are secured? Security Guards duty is to keep watch on the suspicious people who will cheat the customer, not to hold gun and stand. If he is cheated and how he will protect the customer from cheaters?????

It is generally seen that the bank staff are very rude and not helpful at all to anyone. Customers have to wait for a long time in front of their windows and the staff always pretend to be busy with God knows what? Whenever one goes to withdraw money or enquires about any loan, they are treated as beggars by these uncouth bank staff. Its high time they are given lessons on customer friendliness and service with a smile.

    Vaasu,
I agree with you. Most bank employees, specially the young ones are worse than govt employees. They keep our money and get paid out of this but are worse than money lenders. They are not helpful to the poor or illiterate. Fortunately the ATMs and Net banking / mobile banking has helped people to visit banks to the minimum.
