Four of family including three women killed in bus-car crash

Chikkaballapur, Aug 21 (DHNS) : Four people of a single family, including three women, were killed and six injured when the car by which they were travelling rear-ended a stationary KSRTC bus on National Highway-7 at Doddapylagurki in the taluk on Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred when the victims were on their way from Thimmasandra to a dargah at Penukonda in Andhra Pradesh.

Zakir, 38, the driver of the car, Salma, 35, Sabrina, 27, and Fathima, 48, are the dead. Two of the six injured are in a critical condition.

All the injured have been admitted to a hospital in Bangalore, police said. They were given first aid at the district hospital.

The driver was driving the car at break-neck speed. He lost control over the vehicle which  hit the bus from behind. The car was damaged beyond recognition. Three of them died on the spot.

Police had a tough time extricating the car from under the bus. It became difficult to pull it out even with the help of a crane. Finally, the vehicle was pulled out with the help of the public.

I am sick and tired of writing the same thing over and again .. speed, accidents etc. But this message doesn't drill into the brains of the common person. My observation ... none of the cars in India have in themselves the accident bearing impact when it crashes head on with another vehicle. Barring the heavyweight Ambassador car, none of the cars have the capability to avoid an accident with this magnitude due to its frail fragile body.

Today's cars are made for petrol and diesel conservation / efficiency, in particular Maruti. Its body is like a paper .. even if a small child presses it with its little fingers the side is easily dented. Gone are the days, when Ambassador ruled the roost. Even today, it is a supreme spectrum and a market leader... but with the manifold increase of petroleum prices every single day, and its mileage (I am told Ambassador gives an output of only 6 kms to a liter of petrol / diesel .. irrespective of a Mark 3 or a Mark 4 engine - I mean a normal one) the luxurious air-conditioned car of Hindustan Motors (gives only 4 kms to a liter mileage). My view is how can we avoid fatal loss of lives even though the driver / mechanism may be at fault. We have to look out for a solution.

Hey... 4 dead and 6 injured. I wonder. It's swift car and loaded with 10 people ? That also could be another reason for loosing the control. the condition of the car evidence the severity of the crash. Just a small mistake of the driver made so many people to loose their lives. What a tragedy.

    Speeding thrills... Speeding kills..

Just saw an accident in Jeppina Mogaru this morning and guided him to a nearby hospital. People say he was in high speed.

Why do you really want to speed up? It is better to reach late than to be called Late.
