Skeleton of a missing person found in Moodbidri – Murder suspected

Daijiworld Media Network – Moodbidri (EP)

Moodbidri, Aug 23: The skeleton of a person reported missing mysteriously from Nellikar in Karkala taluk for the last three months found among trees in Kellaputhige of Dharegudde grama panchayat limits on Wednesday August 21, 2013 night, has raised suspicions if it is a case of murder or suicide.

Forty five years old Sudhakar Kunder, a resident of Valpadi grama and a salesman of Ice cream was reported missing from the house of the elder sister of his wife from May 23, 2013.  A missing person’s complaint was lodged on May 31, 2013 in Karkala police station in this regard.

The people reported to the police of a skeleton found on Wednesday, in between trees near the road closer to Kellaputhige Veeramuruti playground in Dharegudde grama on August 21, 2013 at about 8 pm.  Police suspected the skeleton to be that of missing Sudhakar.

Sudhakar’s brother identified the writings of Classic Tailors on Sudhakar’s shirt and Sudhakar’s wife confirmed that the skeleton indeed is of Sudhakar.

Even though the residents in the area had seen the skeleton about fifteen days ago, it was not reported due to fear.  But one of them brought it to our notice on Wednesday.  We informed the police immediately.  The place often stinks due to waste of slaughtered chicken in the area, said Subhaschandra Chouta, president of Dharegudde grama panchayat.

As bottles of poison, clothes, undergarments, chappals and knife were found in the place, the people suspect whether Sudhakar had committed suicide or was murdered.
