Mangalore: VHP-BD continue protest against arrest of leaders in Ayodhya

Mangalore, Aug 26: As a part of the nation-wide protest against the arrest of VHP leaders Ashok Singhal and Praveen Bhai Togadia in Ayodhya, the activists of VHP and Bajarangadal held a peaceful protest at the Gandhi park, opposite Town Hall, here on Monday August 26.

Prayers, bhajans and slogans were a part of the two-hour long protest that was organized to support the cause of construction of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

Addressing the protestors, VHP president M B Puranik said that “'Parikrama Yatre', a devotional and peaceful trip to Ayodhya has been carried out every year by the activists of VHP, BD and thousands of other Ram devotees, under the guidance of various Swamijis and religious leaders. This trip has been carried out in various batches divided under the district wise committee."

"The prime reason for organizing this yatra is to construct the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya under priority basis. While there have been questions that have been raised with relation to the existence of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, there is also evidence that when the land was dug, remains of the old monuments were recovered to support the truth of the existence of Ram Mandir in that venue was confirmed," he added.

The Allahabad High Court has also agreed with regards to the existence of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. After the destruction of Babri Masjid in 1992 which led to communal disharmony, the court had permitted to construct a Ram Mandir at the venue.

"But the UP and the Central Government has been purposely delaying the proposal of construction of the Mandir, with a view to create favor with the muslims and the minorities. On August 25, top VHP leaders Ashok Singhal, Pravin Thogadiya, along with other Swamijis and religious leaders have been stopped from carrying out this Parikrama Yatra and have been arrested.

"With a view to condemn this act of the UP and Central Government, the activists of VHP and BD are carrying out a nation-wide protest. If this act continues, there is no doubt of a fatal eruption of communal disharmony similar to that caused in 1992," he warned.

Leaders Sharan Pumpwell, Krishna Murthy, Manohar Thulajaram, Gopal Kuthar, Jagadeesh Shenava, Jithendra Kottary, Bhujanga Kulal, Pradeep Pumpwell, Punith Pumpwell and others were present.

Their own people are with them but in our country the sad fact is if anyone proclaims to be a hindu he/she is labelled as a communal. This is how the congress government is surviving by dividing the country on caste lines and appeasing the minority.

    Dear VHP-BD:

When I see these young men at the statue of Gandhiji, I feel sad to see their disappointed faces of handful people. This shows their own people are not with them. All these unemployed young men should be taken to prison for a week and feed them nice food and send them to the Army to be trained up and fight for the Nation of India. They are simply wasting their life in shouting slogans for little food and drinks. In the Army they should be treated special and teach the discipline and law of the land and keep them in the army till retirement. Make them a good citizens of our Nation. May God bless them all and our good government in the centre.

People of India today want better job opportunities, better roads, infrastructure, better schools, modern transport and other facilities.

People of India have left the ghosts of Babri behind and moved ahead on the path of economic prosperity. The educated youth today understand that religion is a personal relationship between you and god and they do not require a religious group to act the custodians of any religion.

But sadly, BJP has the dirty habit of remembering Ram only during elections for vote bank politics. With such cheap politics, i doubt if India will ever prosper.

The VHP has only 33% stake because the Nirmohi Akhara has 33% stake, and they are not Ok with VHP.The VHP claims one third share of ‘Ram Lalla’ is again in disputed because this ‘Ram Lalla’ definition is not explained by the court.
The total land area was 2.7 acre where the masjid stood and it was partially demolished by karsevaks. If the court divide this into three means each will get 90 cents. Now with 90 cents land what we are going to do? Where is the parking? Where the place for the God and where is the place for priests and sadhus?
The Supreme Court ruling itself is a message for the entire nation what to do and what not to do with a religious place irrespective of cast and creed. One day except the Sunni Waqf Board, the two groups will be fighting among themselves over the rights on the land.
