Siddu Sixer : 100 days pointer to future, over 60 promises fulfilled

Bangalore, Aug 26: The big achievements in the first 100 days in office are indicative of the direction in which the Congress government in Karnataka is moving, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah claiming that the State Government has implemented more than 60 promises made by the Congress party in the assembly elections.

The completion of 100 days in office “is a small milestone,” the chief minister said after releasing a booklet titled “100 days, hundreds of decisions” to mark the occasion in Bangalore on Monday.

``All promises made in the Congress manifesto would be implemented during the five year rule. Nothing is impossible. All promises will be implemented,” he declared.
The government has implemented major welfare schemes for the benefit of the poor and they included the Anna Bhagya scheme (Rupee one per kg rice to BPL families), waving of loans borrowed by minorities, scheduled caste and scheduled tribes from various government run corporations, increase of subsidy cost for construction of housing by the BPL families, distribution of 150 ML milk thrice a week to schoolchildren and waiver of electricity bill of Bhagya Jyothi beneficiaries.

The 100 days in office indicated the direction in which the government was moving, he said.

On account of good administration and effective implementation of schemes, the party has won the bypolls to the two Lok Sabha seats with a comfortable margin, which was even more than the lead secured by the winners in the 2009 lok sabha elections, the Chief Minister said.

Siddaramaiah asserted that the State Government would implement recommendations made by the P C Hota committee to ensure transparency in the Karnataka Public Service Commission recruitments.

The State Cabinet accepted a majority the recommendations and it was decided to conduct examination every year for recruitment of KAS officers, he said.

He said the Government will take action against those indulged in illegal mining after receiving a report from a high power committee headed by Chief Secretary S V Ranganath.

Though the Karnataka Lokayukta submitted the report on illegal mining in 2011, the previous BJP government had not taken any action, he said.

The high power committee has been studying the recommendation made by the K Jairaj committee and observations of the Supreme Court on illegal mining. The government was also examining the issue from the legal angel, he said.

The State Government has been consulting experts on the issue of setting up the Agriculture Price Commission, he said pointing out that a similar commission has been functioning at the Centre.

However, Rs 1000 crore revolving fund has been set up to provide compensation for farmers for crop loss occurred on account of drought or floods, he said.

The State Cabinet has accepted the report of a Cabinet sub-committee constituted for evolving guidelines for implementation of development works in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region in the wake of special status given to that region under Article 371 (J) of the Constitution by the Centre, he said

The Chief Minister said the State Government has sent a draft notification to the Centre and it was in the process of placing before the Union Cabinet. ``We expect the Centre’s approval soon,” he added.

Good Job Mr. C.M, But your job is only half done.

Just providing grains to all the poor people won't be enough. You HAVE TO create a positive atmosphere for trade, industry and investments in the state. The immediate need is to generate employment for our educated youth, improve infrastructure, build better & broader roads, modern schools, hospitals and improve power generation. Let there not be any room for complacency.

Siddu should be congatulated. He has managed like a good CEO of a company. He has got rid of communal smell in most areas. No grants to mujrai for rains, but it rained well, no money to mutts, but gods are not angry, nowhere do we see him promoting his kith and kin in politics so far so good. Now what is required is make the govt machinery move faster create condusive atmosphere for investment which we had lost, it seems there are hundreds of applications pending with govt for clearence, control the beurocracy, check the corruption and goondaism then we will be on top on progress.

Dear CM when food itself is so expensive in our country what about salary of the common man? It should also get increased by 3-5% every month. Even doctors have increased their consultation fees with the downfall of rupee Or our billing should be in USD instead of INR. Good work by CM, keep it up.
Congs has to do this right, they got the power back after 7 yrs, if they do not perform now, when they will perform.
And i remember Yeddi also did great work in the 1st year and he was awarded for that by some institute.
Later what happened every one knows . :)
anyways the point is, in 5 yr Govt we can not judge from first 100 days, need to wait till end.
and see who is the winner.

Hats of Shri Siddaramaiahji on your completing 100 days and fulfilling over 60 promises. Karnataka is fortunate to have a CM like you. You are a role model to other state CMs. You should initiate legal action against the illegal mining as peer recommendation by K. Jairaj Committee. You had promised that action would be taken against those responsible for attacks on churches and christians. Hope you will keep up the promise. Wish you all the best.
