Mangalore : Sexual Harassment on Minor - Community Leaders Trying to Protect Madrasa Teacher?
While the entire city is raged with the reported sexual harassment of a six-year-old student by a Madrasa teacher, it is gathered that efforts are made by a few Muslims leaders to protect the accused Abdul Khader Yamani.

As reported earlier in these columns Yamani, a teacher at Madrasa at Boliyar near  Mudipu here was arrested on Sunday August 25 on sexual harassment charges following a complaint by girl’s mother.

It is said that Yamani who originally hails from Poyyatabail had shifted his base to
Boliyar a few years ago and had been appointed teacher at the Boliyar Madrasa a few days before the Holy Month of Ramadan had begun. He started sexually assaulting the six-year-old girl from the first day itself. The torture continued for over a month. The girl did not report it to anyone since Yamani had threatened her. However a few days ago, she revealed about this with some of her classmates who in turn brought up the matter to the notice of the school teachers.

The girl then also informed her mother about her plight. Though the teachers advised the mother to report it to the police, the girl’s mother took up the issue with the local mosque and demanded that suitable action be taken against Yamani.

Accordingly the community leaders had called for a meeting on Sunday. However, the girl’s mother later said that they took an adverse decision without even informing the survivor and her mother. When the parents enquired the religious leaders as to why the issue was being covered up, they tried to persuade her not to blow up the issue.
Peeved by irresponsible attitude of the community leaders, the parents reported the issue to the district Child Welfare Committee first and then to the Konaji police, who then arrested Yamani.

Some of the locals even said that Yamani has been facing several similar charges of sexual harassments as he has often abused girls and young women. After coming to know about the real face of Yamani, the locals are greatly enraged. Even the majority of local Muslims have demanded that stringent action must be taken against Yamani.

However, news is abuzz that systematic efforts are on by some leaders to protect the accused. Pressure tactics are being used to force the survivor to withdraw their complaint.  A few of the leaders are trying their level best to cover up the entire issue by supporting Yamani. This has left the local community divided in two. It is also said that some other girls and young women who had been sexually assaulted by Yamani too are planning to lodge complaint with the police.

But once the police arrested Yamani, a few of his supporters and sympathisers gathered near Konaje police station. They were of the opinion that Yamani is innocent and he is being framed by some vested interest.

Even though the police tried to inform them that Yamani was facing serious charges, the protestors did not budge and tried to storm the police station. The situation was then brought under control by the police.

It is advisable, female teacher for girl and male teacher for boys.
Their must be no co-education in madrasa. Teaching must be in Seperate bolck for both sex.
Even though these boys n girls r small but still prevention is bettet than cure.

I wish the INDIAN GOVERNMENT would conduct a POLL asking the citizens of INDIA what kind of PUNISHMENT should be given to RAPISTS AND MOLESTERS.
I bet many would say DEATH PENALTY or LIFE IMPRISONMENT.
RAPISTS AND MOLESTERS don't give prior notice when they commit a crime....then why does the INDIAN GOVERNMENT run unwanted TRIALS.
In DELHI RAPE CASE the girl is DEAD but the culprits are still being help up in JAIL ....this is not JUSTICE...Please I URGE to the GOVERNMENT take serious action towards these heartless and ruthless people before WE THE CITIZENS OF INDIA plan our next move.

BY PROTECTING THE ACCUSED OF SERIOUS OFFENCE, COMMUNITY LEADERS ARE SENDING WRONG SIGNAL TO THE WHOLE SOCIETY NOT ONLY TO MUSLIM COMMUNITY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.
THERE SHOULD BE STATE PROTECTION TO THE VICTIMS. NEW RECENT RAPE LAW EVEN NOT ENOUGH TO PROTECT THE VICTIMS. STATE SHOULD BRING AMENDMENTS TO COVER TO ARREST THE COMMUNITY LEADERS FOR PROTECTING THE ACCUSED OF SERIOUS OFFENCE AND SHOULD PUNISHED UNDER THE LAW. FENCE IS EATING THE GRASS. THEN WHAT ELSE WE CAN EXPECT FROM THE COMMUNITY LEADERS.

IT IS A LESSON FOR MANY OTHER TEACHERS WHO NOW ON WILL CONTROL THEIR EVILS, SO I REQUEST MY MUSLIM BROTHERS NOT TO INTERVENE IN THIS MATTER AS EVEN KIDS FROM YOUR FAMILY TOO ARE GOING TO MADRASA, THIS INCIDENT WILL TURN ON ALL OF YOUR KIDS FAVOUR. SO DONT WORRY LETS THE LAW TAKE ACTION AGAINST THE CULPRIT, HE'LL GET PUNISHED IF HE'S GUILTY, HE'LL COME OUT IF HE PROVED INNOCENT.

When a aged person like Asaram can assault sexually a minor girl what is new in a Madarasa teacher indulges such type of wrongful acts?
World is so rotten...people have no fear of god or law or 'maana maryaade'....
Only solution for these type of social evils make laws strict for such evil acts with punishment meteted out in a short time schedule.

Lots of children are suffering abuse in the hands of the various religious leaders hiding under the garb of their cloaks in the name of various Gods, and their positions in silence and letting it go!!

Time has come to weed them out and bring them to justice so in future children are safe!!!

Do not ever trust any religious priest with your innocent children, they could be more perverted and dangerous than laymen!!!

Caste or religion is not the criteria here. Any person who has sexually harrased a child is punishable. Please do not try to cover up the issue as you would only be encouraging these criminals to continue their monstrous acts against God given children.

So far they may be same people were demanding capital punishment or hang him or some other punishment but now it their Madrasa teacher so they want to protect the rapist and they may ask the minor to give statement that it is not rape ( to take protection from present Delhi rule i.e. below 18 years sex is not a crime) etc.
