Mangalore, Aug 27: Fraudsters and cheaters scandalize people and this has become very common these days. In one such case, Imran and Parveena, siblings are accused by a number of people as cheaters.

The amount said to be defrauded by them is approximately Rs 2 crores.

Purnima, a resident of Kunjathooru Mada, got familiar with Parveena through a common friend Haniba Banu on September 5, 2012. Parveena after a while, requested Purnima for a loan to be invested in a business and for a land dealing and promised to return it with interest.

Purnima agreed to lend Parveena the amount in installments of Rs 10 lacs. The amount so advanced amounted to Rs 55 lacs after a while.

A portion of the amount advanced to Parveena was from the amount kept by her for the expenses in her household and borrowed from others.

Parveena refused to return the amount despite repeated requests. Finally, her brother Imran said that since his sister has been missing for a while, the brothers will return the money.

Another accused in this case is Imran's friend Haneef who has been accused of threatening the people who demanded their money back.

Imran and Parveena were scheduled to return the money on Tuesday August 27 at the CCB where a case has been lodged.

Another victim is Amina who has been giving money to Parveena from February 2012. The total amount goes as high as Rs 1.5 crores.

Some of the amount was given to Parveena by the people by selling their lands and expensive jewellery.

Sources state that Parveena used to live at Morgansgate and has now moved to a flat at Kaprigudda.

Further details are awaited.

There is no education factor where greed is the main cause!!

Even retired police officers, doctors have fallen prey to Ponzi schemes in the quest to get rich fast!!

It is understood that they were not contented with the lacs of rupees they were blessed with, but wanted to become rich very fast and in the process lost everything!

Being contented with whatever one has is the greatest blessing!!

They look like middle class people how did they manage to invest to save such a big amount of 55 lacs and 1.5 crores which the way they have invested looks like it was discretionary money!! This shows how damn greedy these investors were! If there was no collateral security then use of crying now as the matter will go to courts and the end result will be zilch!!

According to the news article: " A portion of the amount advanced to Parveena was from the amount kept by her for the expenses in her household and borrowed from others".
what kind of household was Purnima running with such a massive budget wherein she was able to lend Rs.55 lakhs to the fraudsters ?? The source of these funds needs to be traced by the police/ income tax department as well.
