Mangalore : Rashid Malbari convicted of possessing illegal arms

Mangalore, Aug 27: The fourth additional sessions court justice J B Nayak has declared Rashid Malbari and Mohammed Hashim guilty of possession of illegal arms. The quantum of punishment will be known on August 28, 2013.

The complaint was lodged at the Ullal Police station who had submitted the charge sheet with regard to illegal possession of arms to the court.

The DCIB squad police led by Venkatesh Prasanna had arrested eight people including Rashid Malbari and Mohammed Hashim on March 9, 2009 at Kerala’s Chattancha.  A 9 mm pistol was seized from them.

Rashid Malbari is a suspect in attempt to murder Chota Rajan in Bangkok in 2002, Murder of Baldongre in Kuala Lumpur in 2005 and killings of Chota Rajan’s group’s Janam and Prashanth in Mangalore at Baikampady in 1998.
