Mangalore: Mandd Sobhann to host fifth Global Konkani Music Awards on Dec 8

Mangalore, Aug 28: “Mandd Sobhann to host fifth Global Konkani Music Awards and Global Konkani Music- lifetime Achievement Award on December 8 at 6.30 pm at Kalaangan,” informed Eric Ozario, Gurkaar of Mandd Sobhann, here on Wednesday August 28, during the press meet held at Press Club.

Six different awards are will be given under Global Konkani Music Awards. This includes best singer- female, best singer-male, best lyricist, best music composer, best music arranger and best music album.

The eligibility criteria for the global Konkani Music- Lifetime Achievements Award: Any Konkani vocal music album released in the year 2012 anywhere in the world, in any dialect of Konkani, by anyone belonging to any religious and communal denomination. Even devotional songs/ albums are eligible.

The Global Konkani Music Awards will consist of the title, cash prize of Rs 25,000 each, the trophy and ‘maan-sanmaan’.

The Global Konkani Music- Lifetime Achievement Award consists of Rs 1 lakh, trophy and public honour.

The last date to receive applications/ nominations is September 30, he added.

Stany Alvares, president of Mandd Sobann, Louis J Pinto, former president, Arun Raj Rodrigues, coordinator and Irene Rebello, Secretary were also present on the occasion.
