Mangalore: White Doves rescue man in humanitarian gesture

Brijesh Garodi
Daijiworld Media Network—Mangalore

Mangalore, Aug 28: As a new day dawned and everyone was busy with their own work, in a dustbin outside KMC Hospital on Balmatta New Road, Mangalore, lay a naked human being with flies hovering over him.

The White Doves of Mangalore spotted this man lying in garbage and swung into action. Ironically, many two-wheelers were parked close by and their riders and the people moving along this busy road had seen the man but chose to look the other way.

White Doves, an NGO, taking care of the destitute picked from the streets arrived in their van and picked up the man who was dirty and stinking as he had messed up, wrapped a bed sheet around him and lovingly took him to their home at Jail Road where the male inmates are housed. Immediately, Seetharam, aged around 26, was attended to by the loving staff, bathed, shaved, fed, and once again made to look like a human being.

The White Doves are presently taking care of 92 people picked up from the streets in various conditions irrespective of caste, creed, or religion.

I was surprised to see this article. What a kind and humanity shown by the team. Really appreciated. Let's not get in to debate whether it's from christians or who and all. also not getting in to politics here. This drive is far above all these. I am sure there could have been many hindus , christians and also muslims who might have seen this guy lying over there and chose not to bother turning in to other directions. So, let's just appreciate this White Doves team for the great and humanitarian gesture.

Can you do it Vinaya Bangkok. Appreciate people who are doing it. It is not about Hindu or Christians it is human value.. It is easy to comment from a far away country. Let us thank God we are not born in that state. Imagine when a tsunami, earthquake, war hits then it is just humanity that counts. People are educated what is the point????

Mr. Vinaya, Bangkok..it looks like you need the help of White Doves....You does'nt look like normal.

Don't try to politicise every issue. Do you think only VHP,BJP & BD are the only responsible persons in the society ?

Shame on you sitting at Bangkok & writing nonsense here.

You should appreciate the Work of White Doves & encourage & support them. Secondly appreciate Daiji World for bringing this issue to the notice of Millions.

We each person are responsible to help the needy. Just commenting on media does not solve any problems. Contribute your share to help the society. Jai Bharath...

I have written before too regarding Christian community's service to the society.I repeat it again that people from Christian community come first in the time of crisis..There is no doubt about that..They see GOD through SERVICE..My comment should not hurt non christians..
Just take example of Hindu couple who lost home due to fire accident..When Daiji appealed to the readers,Rs.4 Lacs collected in 4 days ! 80% donors were christians and one of them donated Rs.25,000/-..It is not a big issue..but it is a very big issue because despite we hindus damaged Jesus statue in M'lore church, they are still showing humanitarian gesture towards everyone..Thats what impressed me...Mount Everest bahala jana hattiddare..aadre modalu haattiddu yaaru ?..adu important..

Dear Vinaya please if you cannot do good to the society let us not do bad.Your comments are disturbing.I will challenge that White doves have not converted a single person so far.How can you write such a blind comment? At least appriciate the contribution of christians who represent mere 2.34% of India's population but run 38,000 classic eduational institutions all ove India, leading in healthcare, philanthropy and rural developement. You may think why we have to do all that.We believe every individual is God's beautiful creation and there is dignity for life and most of us practice it.Have a nice day my friend.

This is not a job Mr. Vinaya, Bangkok It Takes a Kind heart to love and a tender touch to the rejected. Humanity does not caste, creed, or Religion. I do not understand how do you adjust with the people of Bangkok. Even though you are in a foreign land people accept you and love you in that country as a foreigner. So that you work and live in that country. But you do not like the people who are giving a human life to those who are rejected by the society in your own country. Do you understand the meaning of humanity, have you ever gone through it.

This person must have felt the touch and love of human being. Humanity does not have borders nor caste, religion, and creed. Touch is more important then food.
