Author Yogesh Master arrested for derogatory references to Lord Ganesh

Bangalore, Aug 29 (PTI) : The author of a controversial Kannada novel which reportedly made derogatory references to Lord Ganesha was arrested today on charge of hurting the sentiments of a community.

"Yes, the Kalasipalya police have arrested Yogesh Master who has authored the controversial novel," DCP (West) Dr D C Rajappa told PTI here.

The book, "Dhundi; The story of a forester becoming Ganapathi" portrays the relationship of Shiva-Parvati-Ganesh in a highly objectionable manner, its critics and several Hindu organisations said.

The arrest followed a complaint lodged against the author seeking action against him for hurting the sentiments of the Hindu community.

Several Hindu outfits and religious leaders had demanded its withdrawal and threatened widespread protests against the author if the book, released on August 21, is sold. They also sought an unconditional apology from Yogesh.

Put the author behind the bar forever. These so called self styled intellectuals create nuisance in the society in the name of art, literature and freedom of speech etc and hurt religious sentiments by derogatory remarks, paintings and drawings etc. Teach him a lesson so that no other drunkard and mentally Instable person hurt religious sentiments of Gods followers.

For a moment you put yourself in writer's shoes and introspect what was going through in his mind. Most of these writers have a sick mind and waiting for an opportunity to spread hatred in the society.
It is a known fact and also the truth that is, all religions are murky and founded by none other than people like us.
What is of utmost importance is that one should remain 'FAITH'ful to eternal God and follow the principles which all religions teach you. If someone follows idle worship and does meaningless rituals, it is not my problem. I will not use my religion to attack him/her. After all, religion is just a tool to reach out to God, belief and faith are more important to seek eternal salvation.

We all have the right to follow any religion we like. We also have to respect one's beliefs. We also have to the religion, traditions n customs and their meaning we are following, instead of blindly believing or following something that is creating nonsense and Nuisance around. Well.. here is an author who has done a bit of research and has come up with his work. Its our work to go through it and check out the errors in it if any by ourselves instead of dancing behind some other's point of view n fooling ourselves.

Nobody has right to mock God. Authors, film makers should remember this. Strict action should be taken whoever hurts the sentiments of any religion. We all are one and hence nobody has right to pass lewd comments on any religion.
