Kuwait: KCWA organizes annual meet

Kuwait, Aug 31: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), a premier Catholic Association in Kuwait, held its general body meeting on Friday August 30 in IEAS auditorium Salmiya.

The meeting commenced at 6:30 pm with the opening prayer lead by Orson D’souza. President, Anil Fernandes heartily welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude towards all the members for their support, love and encouragement.

 

Various reports were presented and appreciated by all. Louis D’costa and Renita D’mello presented minutes of last GBM and activity reports respectively, Finance, Membership and educational fund reports were presented by Gilbert Mathias, Praveen Menezes and Vijay D’souza respectively.Cultural and sports activityreports were presented by Kiran Gonsalvesand Dr ManoharPrabhu respectively.

KCWA website details were presented by Rajesh Aranha and Monthi Fest 2013 programme details were presented by RenitaD’mello. Fr Joel D’souza, Capuchin, who is on visit to Kuwait on a mission to strengthen the faith of the faithful in Kuwait spoke highly about KCWA’s works and achievements.

On this occasion, members’ children with excellent academic achievements were felicitated with floral bouquets. Stephen Machado proposed vote of thanks followed by closing prayer.  The meeting ended by singing ‘MoriyekHogollsiya'.

Sound system was provided by Anand D’souza (illuminations). Steevan Misquith facilitated power point presentation. The projector was provided by Walter Saldanha.

The whole programme was compered efficiently by vice president Deepak Andrade. The meeting was concluded at around 8:30 pm. Snacks from Caesars confectionary were distributed to the attendees. Around 150 members and their family were present.

KCWA executive and management committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to members for attending the GBM in large numbers and for their valuable suggestions and also thank the management IEAS (Don Bosco) for providing the auditorium.

    KCWA is doing very good work by helping poor childern for thier education through various parishes throughout canara region. we are looking forward to have a wonderful cultural activities through KCWA. New president is already doing well by gathering lot of young new faces in the managing committie, let it continues the good work by KCWA. wishing you all the best for the coming Monthi fest celebration in Kuwait City.

    Wonderful work done by KCWA for the past 25 years. ALl the best for the future. My parish of St Raphael Church- Badyar is grateful to KCWA for helping poorest students for their education. Nice to see Fr Joel-Capuchin.
