Karkala: Kannada movie on St Lawrence: Shooting complete, release in December

Karkala, Sep 1: Much-talked about Kannada movie on St Lawrence 'Karkalada Pavada Purusha Santa Lawrence" is all set to priemer in December 2013.
Stephen Mendes, producer of the movie has said that complete shooting of the movie is done, soon dubbing and editing work will commence, and in Decemeber the movie will be released.
"I am personally the witness of miracles of St Lawrence, this devotional movie can help narrate the life of St Lawrence not only to the Christians, but people from all walks of life. Frank Fernandes from Dubai who earlier produced a Konkani and Kannda movie has backed us with his generours support, also many community stalwarts have supported this movie. I am sure this is one-of-its kind in Kannada, and will be surely liked by the people," said Stephen.
The movie will give an account of how the church at Attur came into existence and about the wonders and miracles of St Lawrence in the lives of numerous people. A group from Goa comes to Karnataka to install the statue of the miracle saint. The statue will itself identify the place for the installation. After its arrival at Karwar, it comes to Mangalore and gets fastened to the ground at Parpala, Attur. It gets installed there. Several miracles take place after its installation. Children for childless couples, relief from illnesses, relief from unseen bad spirits, peace for those who are unhappy regardless of their religions are some of the miracles taking place.
When people ask for more information on the statue, they speak about his life, and service to the poor, torture by king Valerian and killing by throwing him alive in hot pan. He accepts the pain and suffering with a smile for the love of Jesus.
The cast consists of Ravichetan as the hero and Shobharaj as the villain. Other members of the cast includes Swastik shanker, Bhavya, Rekha Dutt, Tennis Krishna besides dance by three dancers from Turkey. The film has seven songs two out of whom are sung by S P Balasubrahmanyam.
The producer of the film is Walter Stephen Mendes and co producers are Frank Fernandes, Rajesh Mendes, Jagadish Shetty Devidayal, Alwyn D’ Souza and William Rebello.
Pravin Thokkottu has directed the film.
