Bangalore: Gearing up for 2014: Rahul Gandhi's team to conduct secret survey

Bangalore, Sep 3 (DHNS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is learnt to be sending a team comprising his close aides to Karnataka by this month-end to conduct a secret survey on the party's position and prepare a list of probable candidates for the crucial 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Besides, the party sources said, a Bangalore-based agency has been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct an independent survey. The agency will visit all districts, hold consultation with the local party workers and prepare a separate list of probable candidates.

This apart, both AICC and KPCC have already sent observers to each of 28 Lok Sabha seats to gather information on probable party candidates.

Sources said Rahul has informed all these teams that winnability should be only criterion for selecting the candidates in the constituencies where the BJP and the JD(S) are strong. He has set a target of winning at least 25 seats in the State.

Membership drive

Election to the State youth Congress committee is likely to be held by the end of this year. Indian Youth Congress election authority has currently taken up a membership drive in the State.

The election would be conducted after publishing the names of new members, K T Benny of the authority said on Monday.

The authority is aiming at ten lakh new members under the drive, which is scheduled to be completed on September 5, he added.

    Dear mr. Ravi Ullal, Mangalore,
In a democratic country everybody has the right to contest the elections. Do any congressmen prevented PuppyLove Mr. Modi not to contest in elections.

Secondly, why people are choosing Gandhi Family for Prime Minister position?! Dr. Manmohan Singhiji is belonging to Gandhi Family?!
Thirdly people’s choice is the Prime Minister. People choose congress in majority and the all the law makers support soniaji and Rahulji.

Why your own bjp men are opposing your own bjp leadership and the RSS is telling not to criticize PuppyLove Mr. Modi.
WHY THE BJP IS SITTING IN OPOSITION FOR MORE THAN 60 YEARS. BJP HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME PRIME MINISTER BUT PEOPLE ARE NOT CHOOSING THEM AS SIMPLE AS THIS.

Also MMS may not belong to Gandhi family , but he is controlled by Gandhi family by keeping him as puppet from front. Also would like to inform you that the party by name BJP came into existence only after 1980 and in the last 2009 elections khangress didnt come on their own. It might have got more seats, but at present we have Kichdi govt in UPA with the help other small political parties. So dont say at any point of time that people are electing only khangress.

However, the current ruling UPA government is struggling to complete rest of thier term and the whole country is badly looking for a change due to bad governance and corruption in country level. Wish Karnataka is the one state which will bring more number of MP's for congress than any other states. But, probably they will have to sit in the OPPOSITION for 5 years!!!!!

In DK dist and Udupi it will 100% Congress win as Congress has potential literate candidates unlike Nalinkumar Kateel. In Udupi J.P.Hegde will retain his seat with much better margin.Mangalore will be for Janardhan Poojary.Congress in DK has good batalion of MLAs,Ministers like UT Khader,Rai etc.,to ensure sucess of Congress candidate.Siddu rule is another advantage for Congress sweep in next election in 2014.Third front with third class people never emerge and BJP people still requires rest for next 5 years as they are tired of making illegal booty.BJPs misrule is blessing for Congress in the state.

    Valerian,
Your comment is to introspect by 2 political parties of India. But, for BJP it is too hard for them to shun their hatred for religious minorities as their vote bank is Hindutva extremists.
If a person believes in an ideology without examining its pros & cons then he is not a rational person.
Ideologies of Golmaalkar are against mankind, we can't ignore a human for his caste or religion. India's strength is in its secularism and ethos, not dividing people due to their religion.
BJP won't be in power ever due to many reasons, so we need a party or a front that believes in secularism and take confidence of all the Indians.

As you wrote, Congress will win because of BJP's hatred policy, so an alliance of all the regional parties should emerge and contest election against Congress & BJP. Then Congress will learn the lesson, if not India will be another Greece if Congress wins and If BJP wins it will be another Pakistan.

Winning an election is one thing, pro people Govt. is another thing.
As long as main opposition BJP remains against minorities and backward classes, Congress will win not on their merits but for demerits of BJP.

Time may come, BJP will change
its ideology to accommodate all sections of the society, like in Goa, winning election will be forgone conclusion for congress.

Congress should introspect, remove corruption, price rise and crime from the society caused by all sections of the society!

The 'Modi Scare' should 'jolt' the Congress party into cleaning their house of all cockroaches better sooner than later.

As you rightly said Valerian it is only the demerits of the BJP, especially putting up a hardliner like Modi which is 'currently' working in favour of the Congress.

I find the corruption in the Congress very distasteful. However, I still support the Congress for their practice of 'inclusiveness' and because I find the BJP's 'practiced' communal ideology repulsive and dangerous for our nationhood.

Meanwhile, I continue wishing and hoping the Congress gets down to cleaning their own house asap and maintaining it clean then on.

You will eat dust in 2014...

Even for Good Personality people like JP Hegde, it is very tough. JP Hegde will win only if he contest as independent candidate or from BJP.

JP Hegde will win if he contests from BJP - Dinesh..

Dinesh...pullya kaanday enchina joka? JP Hegde wins elections by virtue of his personality and not because of any party affiliations. Same goes well for Haladi Srinivas Shetty.
