Sunny, hot day in Delhi, similar Wednesday likely


New Delhi, Sep 3 (IANS): It was clear and hot Tuesday in the capital as the maximum temperature settled two notches above the season's average at 36.3 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast similar weather Wednesday.

"The skies will remain sunny tomorrow (Wednesday), there is no possibility of rains," said the India Metrological Department (IMD) official.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 36 and 26 degrees Celsius.

The city witnessed clear skies and bright sunshine Tuesday and the minimum temperature settled at 25.9 degrees Celsius-average for this time of the year.

Monday's maximum temperature was recorded at 35.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average, while the minimum temperature settled a notch above average at 27 degrees Celsius.

Since the arrival of the monsoon, the city has recorded 781.4 mm or rain -- 43 percent above average.
