Manila, Sep 4 (IANS): A suspected bomber was killed when an explosive device he was trying to plant exploded near a police station in the Philippines, an official said Wednesday.

The bomb exploded Tuesday night on a highway in Labangan town in Zamboanga del Sur province, Capt. Jefferson Somera, an army spokesman, told Xinhua.

The army recovered another bomb in the area.
