Mangalore, Sep 5: A man was hacked to death by unidentified persons here late night on Wednesday September 4.

The incident occured at Madyar, Kotekar close to midnight.

The deceased has been identified as Nilesh alias Neelu (40), a resident of Madyar.

It is said that Nilesh was returning home when the incident took place. Nilesh was standing near Madyar junction, when he grew suspicious on seeing a car near the junction. He then followed it in his Alto car.

During the chase, near Madyar temple, the car which was in front of him applied sudden brakes and stopped Nilesh’s car.

A group of 5 persons got down from the car, attacked Nilesh with deadly weapons and fled from the spot, it is learnt.

The body was shifted to a private hospital in Deralakatte for post mortem.

ACP Kavitha along with other police officials arrived at the spot. However, the locals pointed out that Ullal circle inspector did not come to the spot.

Minister U T Khadar visited the hospital.

It is suspected that the murder was committed by rowdy sheeter Santhu and his associates. It is also learnt that, two attempts had earlier been made to kill him.

Internal rivalry is said to have been the motive. Sources said that about 8 years back he was a rowdy but had given up criminal activities later.

Ullal police have registered a case.

Police need to take very stern action on criminals because most of the time they come out on easy bail and continue their activities and the end result is game of murder. Special police cell must have routine tracking system on hard core criminals.

Such things happen only with murders and rowdies. Decent people need not worry with this type of incidents.

Live a decent and dignified life and you will live peacefully. All the fingers not equal, like wise, not all the people are good in this world.

Lobo Mamu is elected by citizens to look after their needs in the constituency. Not to take care of gangsters quarrelling between them.
