Dammam: IFF hosts Independence Day cricket tournament

Dammam, Sep 5:  The India Fraternity Forum, Eastern Province, recently organized an ‘Independence Day Cup’ cricket tournament to celebrate the 67th Independence Day. A large group of NRIs participated in the tournament.

Ashraf, president of India Fraternity Forum, Eastern Province delivered a speech on the importance of independence and prior to the match there was a freedom march, which was organised by the members of  the Eastern Province along with the Indian flag.

A total of nine teams from Dammam, Khobar and Jubail participated in the tournament. 'Jubail Attackers' emerged as the champions of the match, while 'Dammam Warriors' bagged the runners-up trophy.

The 'Jubail Attackers' team captain Hidayath received the Champions trophy and Shabeer from the team of 'Dammam Warriors' received the runners-up trophy.

Javed Bajpe was declared, as the 'Man of the Match' and Hidayath won a trophy for the 'Man of the Series' for their all round performance during the tournament.

Snacks and drinks were distributed during the day and a lunch was served in the afternoon.
