Kundapur, Sep 6: In yet another mobile lottery scam, a married woman from Muddugudde was lured by the prospect of making 50,000 dollars and ended up losing Rs 36,000 which she spent on recharging several mobile phone numbers.

Initially, the woman’s uncle got a call which said ‘You have won a lottery of 50,000 dollars. In order to claim the amount, please recharge this number with Rs 1,100 within 15 minutes', but the man did not respond to the call.

Similarly, the woman too received the call. She was instructed to recharge the number with Rs 1,000 from the nearby mobile shop.

Wanting to try her luck, the woman first went to a mobile recharge shop located at West block road. She got a call again, during which she handed over the phone to shop owner to check what was the matter. Over the phone, the person asked to recharge a number starting with 110. The shopkeeper returned the phone back to woman, and said that he cannot recharge such a number.

The woman received the call again, where the person told her to go to other recharge shops, if she wanted to win the prize money. Hence, the woman went to a shop near Chinamaya hospital. She asked the shopkeeper to recharge the mobile numbers given by the person.

The person have her several mobile numbers, all of which were recharged by the woman.

When the shopkeeper got suspicious, the woman replied that the recharge amount will be paid by her brother.

When the recharge amount came up to Rs 36,000, the shop owner asked the woman to pay the money. As the woman did not have the money, she handed over her mangalsutra to him. She then called the same person who asked her to recharge, but the number was switched off. Only then did she realise that she had been fooled.

    so sad.
At least she would have asked some one and get know the real truth. Every time these messages are seen in mobiles as well as in the emails.
It is better to take some action against these fake people. So that others may know that it is not easy to get the money.
Even in the emails they write that the person won the prize they write such away any one can fool easily unless we take advice from certain persons. Some times they use RBI Bank Name, Photo, etc.
So here after all should know about these things and should give some awareness programmes to those who do not know about these cheaters.

Very funny, to get a Mobile sim in India we need to provide several address proof and related documents. So why cant police catch those sim card holders. So easy....otherwise what is the point of collecting all address proof documents.

Gangnam Style Women. Indian economy is in the hands of this women. Raghuram Rajan's Reforms are working. She knew that the Dollar price has gone up and Rupee value has gone down. So she did not care for that 36,000 Rupees. She was so greedy to get that 50,000 Dollars. She even handed over her Mangalsutra, she may not be interested with her husband.

We need such kind of people who can spend and improve the economy of India.
