Bangalore, Sep 6 (NDTV): A serial rapist in Karnataka who had escaped from prison setting off an alert across the state and a massive manhunt, has been arrested.
Jaishankar, who is often referred to as 'psycho Shankar', escaped from the Bangalore Central prison on Sunday, wearing a police uniform. He was arrested near Bomanahalli in the capital city.
Jaishankar, 35, is convicted in one of the nearly 20 cases against him, many of them in Tamil Nadu. He is accused of rape, kidnapping and has several cases of theft against him.
The government had announced Rs. 5 lakh rupees as reward for any information on him.
