Mangalore: Thief caught on CCTV at tailor's shop, beaten up

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (EP)

Mangalore, Sep 7: A thief was beaten up after being caught for stealing from a tailor’s shop at Thokottu junction here on Saturday September 7.

The accused has been identified as Ashok (28), a medical representative for Ayurvedic medicines.

It is alleged that Ashok had taken away cash from Omega tailors at 1.35 pm on September 4, when there was nobody in the shop.

However, CCTV camera installed at the shop captured the images of the crime.

On Saturday, when Ashok came to the shop, the owner caught him and beat him up.

Ullal police who arrived at the spot arrested Ashok.

A case has been registered in Ullal police.

Tailoring shop having CCTV ??? Wow this is news !!! What was the reson by the owner to install CCTV in tailoring shop ?? Hope it was not used to view the changing room !!!!
The news states that on Sept 4th the person commited the crime....If the act was committed and captured on CCTV ,Why didnt the tailor complain with the clip to the police the same day ????
He waited for 3 days until Saturday ( 7 Sept )and beat the medical rep black and blue with the help of a preplanned set up group....
Request the police department to investigate thoroughly to ensure that the medical rep is not framed....

Robber is beaten-up but not severly. No blood marks.

Public look to be little sympathetic. There is no angry attitude. They must have given a mild punches/slaps as an early warning. Bach gaya sala.

It is surprising to see that some people are showing sympathy to the thieves. There could be so many reasons but nobody can tolerate stealing whatever may be the circumstances. Beg for donations instead of steeling. People will give voluntarily. And stealing by an educated man not all acceptable. Public are also right in their action. Because if we give complaint police will not act.

That is true, every action has a reason but in India this is a fashion which doesn't have a reason. People rape for fun, they steal for fun.

Beating up or say hooliganism is very common in india. We see everyday on the streets. Whether the guy involved is highly educated or a illiterate all enjoy this. In this case it would have been better if the accused was handed over to polce without all this bashing.

We some time blame new technologies and innovations for the evil and unrest taking place in the societies.

Now see what happened. Had the CCTV camera was not there, he would have repeated his habitual way of life, that is stealing. Here on he will be cautious.

I would say he is a petty robber and he should not have been physically assaulted.

When people are aware that there is theft & all possible crimes happening around, then why was the shop left unattended??? Just because there are CCTVs' installed? This is simple neglegence and inviting troubles. By seeing an open shop any person hungry for money would be tempted to rob. Here its a medical representative, tomorrow can it be a officer??

Tailor could have at-least locked his cash drawer.
There are chances that Med rep is regular friendly visitor and that day to entered the shop and then he returned then no one knows what and how it had happened.

Wahh Leslie brother..When did u become Human Right Activist..?

    Some Intersting Facts.

    1. CCTV at Tailor's shop !!, even jewellery shop owners also don't give high importance to CCTV (cctv was switched off in one of the theft cases in Mangalore)

2.Medical Rep too steal money !!

3.Humanity : When thief was being beaten up left, right & centre, one unknown person is trying to stop attacker..(5th pic)

Now Medical Rep (Ayurvedic) must apply Pinda Tailam or Dhanwantari Kozhambu on his body for at least 2 weeks to become all right !!

No one wants to be a thief or beggar by own choice...
Nobody has right to beat a fellow human being...
    Not even own parents...
    Humans must become human first...
    Thief will also convert then...

If thief comes to know your generosity he will be happiest person to rob your house daylight.

According to situation we have to be reasonable in humanity also.
Otherwise robbers will roam around without fear and without favor also.
