Udupi: Cups of glory - Unique Ganesha idol becomes cynosure of all eyes

Udupi, Sep 8: A unique and attractive artwork of Lord Ganesha, made out of paper cups, has become the cynosure of all eyes here. The expo is being held as part of Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

An artwork of Vignaraja Ganesha created by Udupi’s famous artist Srinath Manipal and Ravi Hirebettu, prepared by using eco-friendly items adorns the Sai Radha TVS showroom at Vidyasamudratheertha road.

The exhibition was organized by Sai Radha group’s proprietor Manohar S Shetty to encourage the unique and creative art.

The artwork is prepared using more than 5,000 paper cups by artists Srinath Manipal and Ravi Hirebettu. It has taken three days for them to prepare the artwork that is nine feet high and eight feet in width.

The exotic Ganapathi has become a center of attraction. Besides that, award winning articles of these and of Venki Palimar are also on display here.

The exhibition is open to public from September 7 to September 10 from 10.30 am to 7 pm.
