Kasargod, Sep 12: Changanassery police have arrested a man for allegedly murdering his wife who went missing under mysterious circumstances about four years ago. The incident, which took place in Changanassery in Kottayam, came to light recently.

The deceased is Anjali (30), wife of Pradeep Kumar (43). Pradeep has been arrested by Changanassery police.

As per the information obtained, the incident took place on October 27, 2009. Pradeep had filed a complaint with police stating that his wife had gone missing, and after a few days, he left for Gulf.

Police who took up the investigation did not find any clue and hence planned to drop the case. Meanwhile, on September 6, district police chief received a suspicious letter, based on which the police officials detained Pradeep and during interrogation, he is said to have spilled the beans.

It is said that initially, Pradeep revealed wrong information to the police. Later, when DySP N Rajeev, circle inspector V A Nishad Mon took him for further investigation, the truth was revealed.

Pradeep who was working in the Gulf fell in love with Anjali, a nurse, and wanted to marry her. Their wedding was opposed by Anjali’s family members. Meanwhile, Pradeep also liked a girl from Kolyad.

However, despite opposition, their wedding took place, after which Pradeep and Anjali left for the Gulf. Meanwhile, Pradeep was suspended from his job for committing some financial fraud in the company and hence had to return home. Anjali too returned a month later

In February 2009, the bike they were riding met with an accident and Anjali was critically injured. For about 51 days, she received treatment in a hospital at Thiruvalla.

On October 27, while taking Anjali to hospital for a checkup, Pradeep mixed sedatives in her juice due to which she fell asleep. He then pushed her from a remote hilly place near Vagamon and killed her. Soon after, Pradeep lodged a complaint with the police stating that his wife Anjali had gone missing.

Sources said that Pradeep had a married a girl from Mallapalli on June 16, 2009 and they were residing in a rented house at Telagath. He later left for Gulf where he married another girl from Changanassery.

We get to hear about crimes that we cannot believe! As time passes by, human beings are losing humanity and kindness, and ready to go any extent for money, power and worldly pleasure. All of these will be short living, none of them are permanent! But we realize it very late!

Bad people are there everywhere. It is not limited to one particular place or one particular religion or one particular gender. Here some people have started generalising the issue. Don't we have bad men or women in Mangalore? All Mangaloreans are saints? Whenever crime is reported, people start talking about that place.

Kasargod peoples mixed up with two types of criminal activities (i.e. from Mangalore and Kerala) because they accepted Mangalorean criminal activities and keralites criminal activities so they are the masters of criminal activities.

    Dear Shankar,

Mangalore was never like that in 60's or 70's. The present situation in Mangalore is due the progress, growth and afluence of the city. Any ways, I apologise if my comparison to Kasargod has hurt anyones feelings.

Pradeep carries the titles of murderer, fin. fraudulent, womaniser & killer and what not, only God knows. In his quest for lust, he may lose his original love (wife) too.

    Flavian,

His first wife is killed (by him). Now, I don't know whether she should be termed as his 'original love' because there are two more of them, fortunately alive.

I wonder who gave such a man a girl in marriage. An NRI generally has his wife's name in his Passport. I wonder which of them possess that glory !

It is not necessary to enroll spouse name in passport since she was in a separate hospital visa as a nurse.
Wife name should entered in spouse passport only to get husband sponsored visa.
I don't think he is worth (family status visa) of sponsoring his wife on his VISA.

    JN,

Incorrect. Even if they function on individual employment visas, its is mandatory to endorse spouse's name in the Passport soon after marriage especially while residing in a Gulf country. Else, one may have to carry around the Marriage certificate to prove their relationship.

This endorsement remains valid until the present passport expires. A new Passport comes with her name entered as his spouse.

No young man, ORIGINAL marriage certificate, that too notarized and attested by key authorities like Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as Indian Embassy.

You can still try your hand with just a marriage photograph - bet if you will not be charged of adultery with our own wife he.. he.. he..

It is very bad to see comments against a state. Good or bad, everywhere you can find such kind of people. When I did not find an IGNOU study center for BLS in Mangalore, I went to study in Calicut. I found the people well educated, well-mannered and cooperative. They supported me a lot and I found that place more attractive. God bless you all.

It doesn't look good to blame people of particular place or state .

It looks worse when Mangalorean do it. Because we are one of the most communal and non-civic society.
