Udupi: Ganeshotsava culminates with grand procession at Brahmavar

Udupi, Sep 14: After five days of festivities, the idol of Lord Ganesh installed by the Ganeshotsava committee at Brahmavar was taken for immersion in a grand procession on Friday September 13. 

The procession began from the Government Primary School, Brahmavar, and made its way past the old bus stand, old police station, Brahmavar main bus stand, and culminated at the lake near Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple here.

A colorful display of fireworks mesmerized the crowd at Gandhi Maidan during the procession. The firework display was also arranged at Gandhi maidan prior to the procession. This is the 31st year of celebration.

Thousands of devotees took part in the procession and witnessed the immersion of the deity’s idol in the temple lake.
