Mangalore, Feb 22:ICYM Cordel in association with Y.C.S and Youth Legion of Mary organized an annual event “YUVA SAMBRHAM- 2006” to provide an opportunity for the youth to mix and mingle together and display their talents recently.

The programme began with the thanksgiving mass at Holy Cross Church, Cordel. Fr.Prakash D’souza, assistant director of Fr.Muller’s Charitable Institute celebrated the Eucharist.

The programme began at 6p.m. with a prayer song, which gave an inspirational start for the evening. The entire function was skillfully controlled and compered by Bapsy Rodrigues and Precilla.

The audience were spellbound by the spectacular stage setting – an example of the creativity and hard work of the youth.

The Nightingales of the Parish enthralled the audience with a melodious song composed by Wilfy Rebimbus –“Somsarant kithem asa theim”.

Fr Alban D’souza, parish priest, St Jude’s Shrine, Pakshikere was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized the role of the family in shaping the youth.

Certificates and Prizes were awarded to the winners of various competitions conducted by ICYM during the year.

Fr G W Vas, parish priest, Holy Cross Church, Cordel presided over the function. Fr Alex Noronha, Fr Alwyn Serrao, Richard Alvares, animators- Anil Monteiro, Victor Vas, Precilla Castelino, ICYM president Rohan Fernandes, Youth Legion president Janet Lobo, YCS vice-president Roshan were present on the stage.

Kishore Kumar, noted comedian and mimicry artist produced some of the best hilarious moments for the crowd.
