Splitsville for Shane Warne, Elizabeth Hurley?

London, Sep 17 (IANS): Australian spin wizard Shane Warne and his fiance Elizabeth Hurley have reportedly split as their careers are said to have put a strain on their relationship.

The 48-year-old model-turned-actress and the cricketing legend have reportedly called their three-year relationship quits just two years after getting engaged, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"They have been so loved up and have tried to make it work, but the distance has been a huge issue," a source told The Sun newspaper.

"Work commitments mean they both spend so much time travelling they have hardly spent any quality time together. Shane is devastated," added the source.

While the brunette beauty is based in Britain and Warne in Australia, the pair is known for their sweet exchanges on microblogging site Twitter. But they have failed to mention each other publicly for over three weeks now.

"Conducting a relationship from other sides of the world has proved extremely difficult. While they love each other very much, things have been strained," the source said.

Speculation that the duo was a couple first started in 2010 after they were photographed outside a restaurant here. It was then that Hurley announced that her four-year marriage to Indian-origin businessman Arun Nayar was over.

Around the same time, Warne had taken to Twitter to confirm that he was no longer with his ex-wife Simone Callahan.

Warne and Hurley got engaged less than a year later.
