Varun wants dad David Dhawan to lose weight

Mumbai, Sep 17 (IANS): Actor Varun Dhawan has a dream - he wants his actor-filmmaker father David Dhawan to lose weight.

Varun made the revelation at the launch of a fitness DVD "Pump Start", which combines dancing and exercise routine.

"One thing that I have not been able to do so far is I have not been able to make my dad lose weight till now. I have tried hard (for it) since childhood and that is still in continuation," Varun said here.

He is keen to show the DVD to his father, but the actor isn't sure if he will follow it.

"My mother is definitely on my side that I could show him the 'Pump Start' routine for even five minutes. But when I will tell him that this is for your weight loss, may be he will walk away," he added.

"Pump Start" has a dance routine that flexes 13 major muscle groups in the body. It has been choreographed by Remo D'Souza.

Talking about the benefits of the dance routine, Varun said: "It is just a five-minute dance routine and anybody can do it. It is not that we have put in difficult steps and only a trained dancer can do them. There are very simple dance steps," said Varun, who is fitness conscious and hits the gym for one and half hours everyday.
