Kasargod: Murder of CPM activist - Prime accused surrenders

Kasargod, Sep 20: Two days after tension broke out in Kasargod following the murder of a CPM activist, a 26-year-old youth surrendered himself before the police for committing the murder.

Prajith alias Kuttapi, a resident of Uduma Aryadka colony, the prime accused in the murder of CPM activist M B Balakrishnan(45) of Uduma Mangad, surrendered before Hosadurga first class magistrate on Thursday, September 19.
 
The accused was said to have been absconding after the murder. Two more people were reportedly involved in the murder and the police are on the lookout for them.
 
Prajith, a lorry driver is said to have stabbed the victim Balakrishnan when he was riding his scooter back home on September 16 night. Following the murder, Kasargod observed a bandh on September 17.
 
Bekal police had registered a case against three people involved in the murder.  A protest was held in the district condemning the murder of Balakrishnan on September 17 alleging Congress party’s involvement in the murder.  Now that one of the accused is in police custody, the motive behind the murder will be known after questioning, said the police.

    Young guy, but loose brains. Committed crime without foreseeing the consequences, could be the reason of brainwash from his bosses.
