Mangalore: Miscreants set Modi banner on fire at Gurpur

Manju Neereshwallya
Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore

Mangalore, Sep 20: A banner showing Gujarat chief minister and BJP's PM nominee Narendra Modi, hung near a bus stand in Gurpur here was set on fire by unknown miscreants.

The banner read “Ondu Bharatha shreshta Bharatha” and “Modi Lao Desh Bachao”.

The banner with pictures of Narendra Modi and Swami Vivekananda was put up by Namo Brigade near the bus stand.  The banner was set on fire by unknown people on Thursday September 19 night.

A similar incident had also occurred at Mudipu area two days ago and the police had arrested those who were responsible for the destruction of the banner. Police have informed that Nawaz and his group who are identified in several criminal activities in Mudipu were involved in the misdeed.

A person wearing Modi T-shirt was also assaulted in Gurpur area.  Activists of Namo Brigade have complained to the Bajpe police and a case is registered in this regard.

Dear Indian...Jnanapeetha awardee Dr.Ananta Murthy said "I will leave India if Modi becoms PM ,now I am old,i can't fight him " My question to you and Mr.Ananta Murthy is, When more than 5000 Sikhs were killed after Indira Gandhi assassination, where was Ananta Murthy? Was he young or old ? Why doesn't Murthy utter a single word about Sikh massacre? Sikhs are not human beings ?Jnanapeeta award should be given to those who have knowledge and wisdom and not to those who write books !!

None of the names you mentioned have been nominated as PM
Candidate from Congress Party. May be you are day dreaming. If they nominate then you can say he\she is fit\unfit for that post.

Alfred, Mumbai\Muscat said there is none of the leader during Sikh Massacre aspiring for becoming PM as yet but Modi so and so is aspiring very much to be the PM.

Although you want others to be serious about their comments, you seem to be only giving sermons to others....

As per Jnanpith awardee and acclaimed Kannada writer Dr UR Ananthamurthy, "He (Modi) will create fear and if a fearsome man is sitting there, people will just bow down to him because a bully creates cowards. The country needs to build a citizenry who are not afraid and a governance where people do not follow a leader slavishly".
"We had people like Nehru who could write a book in jail — Discovery of India, a great book even today. Rao was a great scholar too. There was some dignity for the Prime Minister's post, but that dignity will go if Modi becomes PM.

Their supporters have already accepted defeat and doing these acts in frustration. NAMO brigade should show maximum restrain and not cause any law and order situation which these people purposely want to and then blame BJP for the same like it happened in Muzzafarnagar. Let us fight democratically for this freedom struggle not by violence and create a insecure image to the minorities like the way congress is projecting us.Black sheeps like these are there among us as well who for the sake of some money will not hesitate to burn their own house.
