Mumbai: AKS Kandhivli celebrates 10th anniv with Monti Fest

Mumbai, Sep 20: Assumption Konkani Sangh (AKS), Kandhivli West belonging to Our Lady of Assumption Church recently celebrated its tenth anniversary along with the Monti Fest at the Church premises.

Auxiliary Bishop Percival Fernandez along with Fr Byron Mendonca celebrated the Konkani mass.

Flower showering programme and blessing of paddy was done in front of Mother Mary's grotto. Bishop Percival blessed the new paddy corns. The crowd then moved to the Church in a procession singing traditional hymns to Mother Mary.

‘Kandivlicho Kallo’, a tenth anniversary souvenir of AKS was released by the bishop. Blessed paddy was distributed to all the faithful after the mass.

Cultural programme was organized in the parish hall. Michael Sequeira, president of AKS welcomed the guests. Chief guest Malbert W D’Souza addressed the gathering. Sangeet Samrat Henry D’Souza was the guest of honour.

A J Pereira and John Monteiro were felicitated by the guests for their contribution towards AKS. The youth Reema Quadros was also felicitated for her active participation in the organization.

Fr Jerald Fernandez and Fr Byron Mendonca were also present during the programme.

Valerian Pais and Royston Pinto beautifully anchored the programme. Melvin D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Novem Jevonn was served to all.
