Mangalore: St Aloysius Institution donates Rs 4.5 lac towards Kedarnath rehabilitation

Mangalore, Sep 20:
In a laudable gesture, the students of St Aloysius College, the High School, the PU College and the management contributed Rs 4.5 lac towards the Kedarnath rehabilitation.

A cheque of Rs 3.5 lac in favour Prime Minister's Relief Fund was handed over to district commissioner N Prakash by rector Fr Denzil Lobo, along with students and some faculty members; and another cheque of Rs 1 lac was handed over to Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, bishop of Mangalore to be sent to CARITAS which is helping in the rehabilitation work in Kedarnath.
 
Ponnanna, president of the student union along with secretary Rashmi Peres and John D’Silva, the vice-principal, handed over the amount to Fr Denzil Lobo, the rector.

Rahul Vas, union president, Neil Rego, secretary, Justine Danti, joint secretary along with Fr Elvis Lewis, principal, St Aloysius PU College and Rekha Alva, vice-principal handed over the contribution by the PU section to Fr Rector before it was handed over to the DC.

    Well do SAC and Fr. Denzil, indeed a great gesture towards humanity. Really a nice way to slap those politicians who try to play their cards to devide the society on communal basis playing dirty politics.

    Only goes to show they never differentiate when humans suffer
    physically and mentally from such kind of disasters or for that matter any other kind too.

    Always ready to help fellow human beings in their hour of need as much as they possibly can.

    Very good gesture and a good thought.
