Bangalore: Action against Santosh Lad if charge is proved: KPCC chief

Bangalore, Sep 21 (PTI): Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President G Parameshwara today said action would be taken against Infrastructure Minister Santosh Lad if allegations of illegal mining against him were proved.

"Congress party will not spare those involved in illegal mining and who have caused loss to the state exchequer .... if allegations against Santosh Lad are proved, we will take action against him," Parameshwara told reporters here.

"It is not right to name someone unnecessarily, we will investigate it," he said. Accusing BJP of using the issue for political reasons, Parameshwara said, "Lokayukta report came in 2011, BJP was in power then, why didn't they take action in two years."

A delegation of top state BJP leaders had met Governor H R Bhardwaj yesterday and submitted documents related to Lad's alleged involvement in illegal mining and appealed to him to direct the Chief Minister to sack him.

Santosh Lad is in controversy following allegations that the company of which he is the partner was involved in illegal mining.

Why take action only if proved? Why you asked Yeddy resignation even if his involvement not proved yet?

I think there is a change of law and mentality after Congress came to power in Karnataka. Actions will be taken only charges are proved. But it was not the case for Yeddy and Reddy Brothers during BJP tenure. Does CM Siddu undertake his another “Yatra” in Bellary now? Let them take action against “C” Category Mining Companies, I believe Twenty Five Percent Karnataka Ministers will be forced to resign and make friendship with Reddy Brothers again in the jail. Come on Congiss register your name for “Jail Yatra” soon

Paramanna please give this case to CID of Karnataka for investigation and rest assured that they will give clean chit to Ladu & co, just like they gave clean chit to all in Belikeri Case. Karnataka CID is a division of any political party presently Ruling in the state.

Mr. G.Parameshwara, did Santhosh Lad help in financing your last Assembly election for the Congress ? If not, make a statement " Santosh Lab will be scrutanised by the CBI, like any other
    individual "

Mr. G. Parameshwara, please be straight forward in your statements. Let the people of Karnataka come to know the truth, about your Party's financial friends.

Just make thorough inquiry with the people of Khanapur Taluk of Belgaum district which is bordering Goa. This Laad family used to stock the illegal iron ore in the jungles of Khanapur near Goa border and then transport it to Marmagoa Port and export it. Partners in Crime were three Criminal-cum-politician Brothers of Gokak (Belgaum).

Earlier Khanapur became famous due to Karim Telegi of Stamp Paper Scam.
Later it became infamous for illegal iron stocking in its jungles by Marathas of Bellary. After all Khanapur is having Maratha/Marati majority.

The ruling party, either in state or centre should get their house in order first. The whistle blowers and the right to information groups should take all the corrupt politicians to task.
Very soon, those days of misusing power by the politicians and the bureaucrats are coming to an end.
    Jai Hind!
