Sharjah, Sep 22: Al Bilal Medical Centre’s ‘Baby Friend’ pediatric department at Jamal Abdul Nasser Street, Sharjah, UAE was inaugurated and became fully operational with effect from Saturday September 21.
A division of well-known Bilal Medical Centre, Baby Friend is a state-of-art pediatric OPD. The services will include child care OPD, vaccination, nutritional advice for children, breast feeding promotion classes and most important, free services for needy children. The expert squad of Al Bilal Medical Centre comprises Anwar Asaadi, chairman and Dr Abdul Nasir, dentist, the medical director Al Bilal Medical Centre.
Al Bilal Medical Centre’s Baby Friend pediatric department will be managed by Dr Sudhakar Shetty, a renowned pediatrician from India a native of Mangalore. After passing his MBBS in 1988 from Kempegowda Medical College, he earned his MD (pediatrics) in 1993 and further completed DCH, specialization child health in 1994 from JJM Medical College Davanagere. He has been practicing as pediatrician from 1994 with Baby Friend Clinic in Pune and has been attached to KEM hospital in Pune, Shankar Post graduate Institute in Pune, Apollo Clinic in Qatar, and Ibinsina Medical Centre in Ajman, UAE.
Al Bilal Medical Centre’s Pediatric clinic will focus on the physical, emotional and social health of children from birth to young adulthood. Care encompasses a broad spectrum of health services ranging from preventive health care to the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. The clinic will deal with biological, social and environmental influences on the developing child and related impact.
Care will be extended in providing treatment for children from the term or near-term neonate to the adolescent. This competence extends to care management and to the support of vital physiological functions.
