A 'filling' meal: Python swallows up five-year-old sheep!

Daijiworld Media Network

Kadra (Uttara Kannada), Sep 23 In an incident that left the locals rather bemused, a python swallowed a five-year-old sheep near Kadra, on Saturday September 21.

The sheep was tied in the field of Bandekar behind the field at Gottegali House, and left to graze.

While the sheep was grazing, a 14-feet long python slithered towards it, attacked and gulped it down.

Later, expert snake catcher G Raghavendra and his team rushed to the spot and captured the snake.

They handed over the snake to the forest department. They had to struggle to carry the heavy snake which was later freed in the Anashi reserve forest.

Pythons, which kill their prey by the method of constriction, are normally known to eat mice and poultry birds. The larger ones can eat bigger animals like pigs and goats.

@ Rudolf, That's nothing!!!!! The most dangerous animals are the ones wearing white khadi, they eat us up ,suck our blood and rob our money.

Mostly they are found sleeping and you will find them only during election times.

Some comments here are timely and funny. But guys, Python for centuries had hadbreakfast/Lunch/dinner like this. It is satisfying its need and digests every ounce of what it swallowed and it is the nature of this specie. Therefore our politicians who make their career using votes cast by us are unfairly compared with Python. The better comparison for our politicians is rat. Rat collects (strictly by stealing only!!!) and stores everything in its hole much more than it can eat. It's just the nature of that specie. A fair comparison of our politicians is therefore rat & rat only.
