'Attarintiki Daaredhi' to release Sep 27

Hyderabad, Sep 23 (IANS): Following the leak of Pawan-Kalyan starrer Telugu action-drama "Attarintiki Daaredhi" online, its makers announced Monday that the film will hit the screens worldwide on Friday.

The 90-minute footage of the film was leaked online Sunday.

"We can't delay the release of the film any further. We don't want the audience to end up buying the pirated copy of the film, and therefore, have decided to release the film on Friday (Sep 27). I hope everybody watches the film in theatre," the film's producer B.V.S.N Prasad said at a press meet.

On Monday, police caught people selling pirated copies of the film for Rs.50 and raids were conducted in most CD shops across the state.

"I'm hoping that the audience will make it a big hit. Even though I'm devastated by the leak, I have confidence in the audience," Prasad said.

Directed by Trivikram, the film also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Pranitha, Boman Irani and Nadhiya in important roles.

Meanwhile, most of the films that were scheduled to release Friday have cleared the way for "Attarintiki Daaredhi”.

"We won't be able to release 'DK Bose' if 'Attarintiki Daaredhi' releases now. We will lose some money. But, its ok as 'Attarintiki Daaredhi' producer has a lot at stake," wrote Anand Ranga, producer of "DK Bose", on Twitter.

"Attarintiki Daaredhi" was scheduled for an Aug 9 release but it was postponed to Oct 9 due to the ongoing political turmoil in the state.
