'In Rahon Mein' perfect for long drives: Meiyang Chang


Mumbai, Sep 24 (IANS): Singer, actor and anchor Meiyang Chang, who has sung for the upcoming music album "In Rahon Mein", says its numbers are perfect to hear during long drives.

"It ('In Rahon Mein') has been touted as one of India's first road albums. You can listen to it along with your friends or love interest while going on drives. It is for very easy listening and perfect for a long drive," Meiyang told reporters here Monday at the album's launch.

"In that case you need something to soothe you, something to make you feel nice about yourself and that is what this album is all about," he added.

Meiyang, a former "Indian Idol" contestant believes the album brings back the simplicity of old songs.

"Today we are so much into item songs, we are so much into party numbers and over-processed songs, but this album goes back to the simplicity that we once had," he added.

Meiyang came into the limelight with the third season of singing reality show "Indian Idol", where he made it to the top five. Later, he ventured into acting also with Yash Raj Films' "Badmaash Company". He has also hosted shows like "Indian Idol" and "India's Got Talent".

Besides him, singers like Ash King, Shriram Iyer and Raman Mahadevan have also sung for "In Rahon Mein".

Elaborating on the kind of songs in the album, he said: "It is a mix of simple, philosophical, romantic and sentimental songs. This will take you back in time."
