Udupi: Sexual assault case - Political 'hand' helped two others escape?

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Sep 24: The alleged sexual assault on 4-year-old girl in Manipal has shocked the coastal region, and two bus conductors accused in the case have already been arrested and sent to judicial custody.

However, if sources are to be believed, two others connected with the case managed to escape the law due to political influence.

It is said that the accused Shubhakumar and Sudheer, after luring the child into a school bus and committing the crime, dropped her home in an auto rickshaw.

Sources said that two others had given shelter to the two accused, after the parents of the girl complained to the school.

As per law, the two persons, though not directly involved in the sexual assault case, should have been in custody for helping the accused, just as brothers of the main accused in the Manipal gang-rape case who allegedly destroyed evidence.

Sources said that one of the two also happens to be a worker in a political party, and soon after he was taken for questioning by the police, a local leader of his party intervened and put pressure on the police to release him. He also reportedly instructed the police not to file any case against the two, a source said.

The incident took place on September 16 when an LKG student of Madhavakripa School missed her usual school bus and was lured into another bus by the two accused. They then allegedly assaulted her sexually and left her home by auto rickshaw. The girl revealed the incident to her parents two days later, and a complaint was filed towards the end of last week. On Monday September 23, scores of parents protested at the school, and the management promised to take stringent steps to improve security. Meanwhile, the accused were sent to judicial custody till October 5.

Nothing will come out with this case, the Management and the political clout, will soon close this case and all our cry's will end, till the next incident happen, we should start a people's power and take law into are hands, because either the police are corrupt or they have political pressure and the crime will keep continuing some will come to light many will be silently rubbed under the carpet, no point in raising our voice here in this forum, we should go out and help the groups that are fighting for then some thing might move, if the first three of the culprits are hanged then people will have hope or else it is just a time pass to comment and watch with sadness the crime that takes place, thinking someday it can be someone of our own

Kids trust the school teachers more than their parents. School on its part has completely failed. Strict action should be taken against the school authorities. Parents send children in the school bus for safety. It is the responsibility of the school to see that children, specially the very small ones are boarded and ped home safely. The incident wouldn't have occurred if attendance was taken in the bus before starting the bus. One child is taken separately and the school does not know this? Looks like the school does not have any watchman at the gate. If they are not able to take care of the kids, let them not run schools. Shame on the school management and the head! Don’t they have children?
All schools must make these compulsory.
1.See that all children are there in the bus before the starting the bus.
2.Every bus should have a lady staff responsible enough to take care of kids.
3.School should be child centered every decision should be taken for the welfare of children.
Principal and teachers! Please come out of your comfort zones and take care of the kids well. Your carelessness has cost this little child’s life.
Friends! Can we as a single community forgetting our differences, support the child and her family by fasting ( only a single meal) and pray for the child’s quick recovery and consolation for parents. Thanks!

Ite mentioned "if sources are to be believed, two others connected with the case managed to escape the law due to political influence."
Is this source not enough to book the political criminal?

As few people said the crime will remain and flourish till these dirtly elements are entwined in the group of "rich and influencial" people whom we think are the protectors of the law.

IF POLICE COULD NOT NAME THE POLITICIANS THEY SHOULD NOT SAY POLITICAL HAND OTHERWISE PERSON WHO ORDERED POLICE SHOULD BE NAMED IF NOT PARTY TO WHICH HE BELONGS TO, OTHERWISE IT IS DEEMED TO BE THE GIMMICK BY POLICE INDIRECTLY DEMANDING MONEY FROM SUCH CRIMINALS TO HIDE THE MATTER.

Dear youngsters, think of a girl at your home. Will she be back when she goes out? Unless these boys are killed these will go on, but don't know who will be next victim. don't leave....if the law doesn't punish them (sentence to death) you kill them. Those who are supporting them, punish them also. Shameless people.. and those who are supporting them.

I am sure the calls from the local leader is recorded since it went to a police station. Even the local leader should be booked for interfering with law and obstructing and putting pressure on police.
