Doha : MCA set to celebrate 5th anniversary with '..Nathlya Vellar'

Media Release

Doha, Sep 25: Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA), one of the pioneer organizations in Doha-Qatar, affiliated to Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) under the aegis of Indian Embassy Doha-Qatar, actively involved in organizing major cultural events and supporting the community, both in Doha and back home in Mangalore, is now all set to celebrate glorious 5th anniversary on Friday, October 25, 2013 by staging popular Konkani play 'Aami Nathlya Vellar".

The play will be staged by the artistes from Daiji Dubai and Daiji Rangmandir from Dubai.

Ramananda Choorya's translated play has already been staged in Dubai (2012), Udupi and Bangalore earlier this year. Directed by ace dramatist and director Dayan D'Souza, play has received huge accolades from around the corners.

A play based on a real incident that happened back in 1960s, has a mix of thrill and comedy.

Walter Nandalike and Asha Correa are playing lead roles, with Dayan D'Souza in a prime role. Dubai's talented artistes Alphonse D'Souza Moodubelle, Nanu Marol, Alwyn Pinto, Irene Cynthai Pinto, Godwin Castelino, Lavina Fernandes, Pradeep Barboza, and Reegan Fernandes will feature in the play.

The 5th anniversary of MCA will begin at 5 pm at the Regency Halls, near Al Ahli Stadium, D Ring Road.

About MCA:

MCA came into existence in the year 2008, primarily to foster closer relations with people hailing from Mangalore residing in the Gulf. Over the past five years MCA has been able to live up to the expectations in looking after the welfare of the people in and around Mangalore. A total of 24 orphanages that include 4,600 children have been supported in the past 5 years. As many as 1,400 underprivileged students have been financially supported in their educational needs. Many sick and terminally ill patients have been morally and monetarily supported.

Within a short span of time MCA has gained popularity in Qatar for its unique style of organizing well-planned events successfully and also encouraging budding local talents.
