Mumbai, Sep 27: "The youth should follow the Indian culture by respecting the family set up that has been passed on from several centuries.  The natives of undivided Dakshina Kannada (D.K) district migrated to metro in search of green pastures facing all sorts of struggles in helping the family members back in their natives," said Shri Vidhyaprasannateerta Theertha Swamiji of Kukke Subramanya Mutt.

"The natives of undivided DK who are settled in metro contributed immensely for the prosperity of their homelands in every sphere.  Therefore, it’s the duty of natives in homelands to acknowledge the contributions of their brethrens in metro and respect them," he said.

Addressing the media persons at Subramanya branch mutt, Chedda Nagar, Chembur (West) here on Thursday September 26, Swami Vidhyaprasannateerta said coastal district of Karnataka maintained the divinity and religiousness.  The mega industries that threaten to destroy fragile eco-environment and age-old culture of coastal district are not justified to execute.

The second phase of Gundya hydel project is likely to cause catastrophe in the district.  The diversion of lifeline Netravati River and Kumaradhara rivulet will render fertile farmlands into disuse, said Swami Vidhyaprasannateerta.

Swami Vidhyaprasannateerta offered puja at sanctuary of Lord Subramanya and blessed the devotees on the occasion. Swami Vidhyaprasannateerta will be camping here till Tuesday October 1, while the devotees can visit Swami and be blessed on the occasion.
