Kasargod: Three including child killed in two separate accidents

Kasargod, Sep 28: Three persons including a child died in two separate accidents here on Friday September 27.

A child died when the auto she was travelling in along with her mother and relatives collided with a mini lorry at Chattanchal junction here.

Due to the impact of the collision, she was thrown out of the auto and the mini lorrry ran over her.

The child is identified as Fathima (5), daughter of K Ahmed Shareef, resident near Chattanchal high school.  She was a student of LKG at Koliadka Apsara School.

Fathima was suffering from fever and was going home after a visit to a doctor. The mini lorry was trying to overtake a bus and collided with the auto which was plying from the opposite direction.

Though Fathima was taken to Kasargod general hospital after the accident, she did not respond to treatment.  Her sister Maria, mother Shabana and Ahmed Sharif’s mother who were in the auto escaped unhurt.


In another accident that occurred at Metupalaya in Tamili Nadu, two people from Kasargod died and one person sustained serious injuries.

The deceased are identified as Chetukundu Dawoodmahal resident Shaikh Zaid (21) and his relative Shaikh Anees (26).  Chetukundi resident Shaikh Suhaib (26) who was injured has been admitted to Kalpana hospital at Coimbatore.

The accident occurred at 1 am on September 27 when the Swift car in which they were travelling dashed against a roadside tree.  A group of ten people had gone to Ooty in Innova and Swift cars on Tuesday, September 24.

Shaikh Anees was employed on the ship and Shaikh Zaid was supposed to start working soon. Their relatives have gone to Coimbatore hearing the news of accident.
