Mangalore, Sep 28: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Saturday September 28 condemned the increasing number of cattle thefts in the region and said that demanded that cattle thieves be booked under Goonda Act.

Addressing a press meet here, Jagadish Shenava, district working president, VHP, said, "The VHP and Bajrang Dal along with the support of the police arrested a few cattle thieves a couple of days ago. But there is a long way to go."

He added, "Usually when a vehicle is caught illegally transporting cattle, a petty case is registered on the driver and the vehicle and the driver are released. Henceforth, the police must take strict action against the transporters and see that when a culprit is arrested, a thorough investigation is done and correct details are collected from him," he said.

"In the past couple of weeks approximately 4000 cattle have been reported missing. The police department has to find out which house they were stolen from and Rs 50,000 compensation has to be given per cattle. The people who are involved in the theft need to be arrested.  The vehicle used for the theft has to be seized and retained. Both the driver and the owner of these vehicles have to be booked with a theft case."

"Officers or political leaders who receive bribes and help in this illegal business have to be booked with charges and cases. People who sell or buy meat must also be booked. The cattle thieves should booked under Goonda Act," he demanded.

"Legal action needs to be taken against the ones who indulge in slaughtering and the ones who have given their land for slaughterhouses. A few places like Suratkal and Ullal where plenty of illegal slaughterhouses are functioning have to be checked thoroughly and action has to be taken to make sure that such practices do not continue," he stated.

Kateel Dinesh Pai and Dinesh Pandeshwar of local VHP cattle protection unit were also present.

Dear BD/VHP / RSS - Why not you think to ban to sell beef to Hindus, specially for VHP-RSS-BD etc
At least in this way beef demand will reduce and automatically cattle thefts also reduce.
For example –here in dubai super market @ pork counter ban for Muslims only but allowed for other religion.

Well said, very well said. Everyone and all organisations involved with cattle thieves, moral policing, involving and supporting goondaism n violence against temples, masjids, churches should be banned and treat alike and punished. Why this VHP, BD and Jagadish is advocating against cattle thieves?

VHP, why do people steal cattle these days? It is just because of you people, you are demanding ban on legal slaughter of beef, attack vehicles carrying cattle, obviously demand for beef has increased so the rates are high and so is the theft of cattle is also rising.

It is really funny of the VHP guys. When some one deals with cattle they say book them under Goonda act. When their own people hit girls and guys in public and are caught they catch the best lawyers an leave no stone to see to that they are not booked under Goonda act. Is a human life less important than that of those animals. Mr. Jagadish (Of the VHP) please educate people on this first and then do other work. 5 years BJP was on power could not do anything on the ban of cattle slaughter and now they are telling this and that should be done.

They came to know that harping over non-existent conversion is useless because people do not believe them anymore. Now they invented a new issue of protecting cattle to show the general public that they really care for society. Dear brothers, first learn to leave in peace and let others to leave in peace. VHP/BD,

Why cant you think of some thing different. If you feel the Cow Breeds in India are sacred as I have read some of the Swamijs stating this as the reason in earlier articles, then bring the Breeds from western World raise then only for meat those interest to breed these cows register under the District administration. You people also support them they there shall be no such issue if unlawful or lawful this will serve the well being of all the people meat lovers as well as Cattle protectors.... If you are OK form a forum I shall research and bring in the information so that this proposal can be put across to the government. If there is a will there is a way!!

Irrespective of religious, political affiliations, we should know that Milk of cow is of utmost value in our childhood days right after birth. Cow milk had protected us, induced growth in us. We all have drank precious cow milk including cattle thieves. VHP and BJP are politicizing cattle theft issue which is wrong. Even congress party had Cow n calf symbol before Indira Gandhi split congress during 1975. Indira Gandhi switched to hand symbol for Congress-I. My point is Cow should not be an object of politics. BJP is trying to cash into this issue for vote bank politics.

Sheep/Lamb/Goat is suppose to be more purer than cow bcz Sheep eats just vegetarian food. In cities we see cows eating waste from municipality waste bins. Some swamijis strongly recommend holy-status to Sheep than cow. Sheeps are slaughtered mercilessly which is a harsh reality in our society.

Whatever it is, We have to protect our cows.

This is one of the examples for how a rutine factor can become a complicated problem because of our politcs of politics and politics of religion. This problem is a result of our vote bank politics. Beef eaters prevented from their shares by banning it in a crooked law. As a result all croocked ways and means evolved to face that croocked law. If unlawful law is imposed then unlawful ways and means errupt. The laws should be lawful and just first. Orelse the laws itself become the causes of cases and so on and so forth.

Cattle numbers are drastically reducing due to cattle thefts. Beef is costly, beef eaters are increasing. Illegal cow-slaughter fetches crores of rupees bcz of huge market demands. No work, More money. Who doesnt want it?

Cow theft has been happening for past 5 years since BJP came to power, but none of the culprits got arrested. In Congress rule, cattle thieves are arrested without fear n favor. We could not have expected any arrests during BJP rule. Those rogues, criminals n looters who are roaming free under BJP rule, and those business ventures tht functioned illegally under BJP rule, AALL MUST BE ARRESTED without bothering about caste, creed, organisation, religions. Siddu is messiah of Justice. And I take the side of Justice.

It is a public perception that BJP along with anti-social outfits of sangh parivar like BD,SRS, HJV etc. had received huge kickbacks in illegal cow slaughter racket. ( Most of these notorious organisations needmoney to run their organisation n feed jobless volunteers/activists, the money for same should come from illegal means like haftha.) When BJP was in power, all sorts of illegal activities were taking place. thousands of Cattle went missing. Police must expose double standards of anti-social parties in this case. Recently, U.R.Ananthamurthy who belong to higher caste in hindu categorically said that centuries ago, upper class hindus slaughtered cows n ate meat to appease gods n to celebrate victories. The think-tank of Sangh parivar must also be invovled in this racket. Grill hard and expose real patrons of this revenue generating activity.

Legal action needs to be taken against these shameless VHP representatives for telling "people who buy meat also be booked". This cattle theft did not took place at once under the present govt. It was there since more than 4 years. What these VHP guys doing during that time? Why they did not arrest those thieves under BJP rule? Bcz they where sharing this business. Now under the Congress government with free hand police are catching these thieves. Now in order to evade and escape from hands of the law they have come up with this drama and crocodile tears - what a shame?

I urge both the twin district VHP and other Hindu organizations to help open more cow slaughter houses so that there will be no illegal business which is not good and un-lawful.

Meat prices are going up like anything due to less supply and beef consumers are increasing day by day.

The cattle’s demand scarcity arises due to hindrance from un-lawful organizations.

The government and the corporation of the twin districts should intervene immediately to provide more cattle slaughter houses to meet consumers beef demand.

You will see the results: There will be no illegal slaughter houses nor cow robbery takes place.

I URGE ONCE AGAIN HUMBLY TO OPEN ONE EACH SLAUGHTER HOUSE IN EACH TALUKS OF THE TWIN DISTRICTS IMMEDIATELY.
