Mangalore, Mar 4: A door-to-door campaign will be initiated by the All India Mulsim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), to educate Muslims to follow the teachings of Islam and rules of Shariah.  This was announced by Abdul Rahim Khureshi, executive secretary, AIMPLB, at a press meet held recently.

The final decision on the course of the campaign will be taken at a high-level meet at Bangalore on Wednesday March 8, he said.

The campaign will aim at appealing to the youth, to distance from all un-Islamic practices existing in the community, specially the dowry system.

He further said that the Bill on compulsory registration of marriages must be discussed in public before it is introduced in parliament, and that it should not affect the validity of a marriage. The process of registration should be such that the financially weaker sections could afford it, he added.
