Excellent news for Mangaloreans. We need more and more parks and trees around. Mankind has very close ties with nature. Kadri park is centre of attraction for every one and it needs genuine facelift. after a tiring week end people wish to go to the park to take rest relax as well enjoy the serene nature with beautiful plants flowers around. Wonderful initiative by J R Lobo apparently his name will go in he history books of mangalore as one of the great lovers of nature. Finally the park should have more playing equipments to entertain kids. The park authorities must keep entrance fees in order to maintain the park in good condition. The park require well secured fencing and operate as per the specified timings. The security guards should remain at the park until they close the gates for public in the evening. Week ends the park may remain open till 9pm. It is suggested the park management and maintenance be outsourced to keep up the high standard of public service.

Very good idea but Taking up the issue on priority is useless before
doing any changes in parks and other things....Mr. J R Lobo please
look our Mangalore roads and please give the Priority to improve
them and even control on traffic, do some improvement where
poor people also can enjoy not only rich people . Kadri park is used for
relaxing, daily walking...etc. but if you improve roads
every one can walk on safe.
And to get rid from daily accidents you need to speak to bus union members
Bus timing should b arranged ON proper manner. So that u can reduce accidents.
Do the improvement where it will b visible every one’s eyes…
I hope you will read all the comments and do the right not for some people but
For everyone…All the very best to you
God will bless you and every people who drive on Mangalore road will appreciate your work.

Don’t just think of improving the park, what about the roads and do we have footpath besides the road. Last time I visited attavar I could see concrete road but no footpath. People were finding it difficult to walk on the roads, near state bank footpath is occupied to sell fruits and vegetables. First take care of these things then think about the park.

I wish 4 - 5 policemen are kept at various points in the park just to wade off eve teasers esp. near the NH. The lighting at the rear end and the corners is miserably poor and needs to be looked into. Most people ( oldies and business
people ) come between 5 - 8pm for their evening walk inside the park.

Mr.J.R.Lobo, you are doing a fantastic job and without much publicity. Keep it up.

1.clean the park taking all bushes and weeds
2.repair al lights.back side there is no light and it is most dangerous even people cant walk at 7 pm. lighting provision is there but under repair.please visit one evening after 7 pm and you will be shocked seeing people are walking in side the park without light.(highway side)
8.keep the park open till 9 pm.
this needs only your attention and action can be taken in one day.then you proceed with your plans.

At least there should be some CCTV's in and around the park.

This may hamper lover’s moves but also can safe guard public interest.

Lobam, good Work. Hoping to see the green park again in Mangalore soon.
Please try to plant flower plants both sides of road in side city limits. use the road dividers for planting flower trees instead of using it as thrash throwing areas by travelers. use the areas below the fly overs to plant trees instead of keeping them as storing garbage or building huts for homeless peoples spoiling the beauty of city,(provide them some other places if needed). Use round about to plant green, remove the advertisement boards.
"Make Mangalore a garden city.." we have plenty of sweet water can use for these things if managed in a proper way.

I agree with D Bhat. Public toilet is a curse preventing development of India. I wish they will give priority to well maintained usable toilets. I am glad that Lobam is accelerating towards clean and green Mangalore step by step. People are realizing the need of electing a rep like JR Lobo. Hope he will work towards Tagore park and other parks of Mangalore, Clean bus stands, railway stn and clear footpaths for public use.

A musical fountain is not needed. A clean pay and use toilet , good food courts and regular budget allocated for maintainence is the need of the hour. For that a nominal fee needs to be collected at the gate.
The park fate must be like that of the new

Please make sure that the garden has clean, well-maintained and usable toilets - paid. This is one of the most basic but forgotten aspects in EVERY part of India... When one visits a normal Western country, it becomes clear how badly neglected it is in our country.

Mr. Lobo, I appreciate the initiative you have taken to improve kadri park. No doubt the park should be renovated on priority, I feel the top most priority should be given to the improvement of roads, drainage system, laying of footpaths etc. If the authorities are not taking up this issue, Im sure your supporters will do it, like the Angelore friends club!

Make sure renovated kadri park doesnt have hot-spots where young couples come n enjoy in secret. Bushes and Dark areas must be removed. Public obscenity is a big NO plz. Keep away moral police from public parks. Many college goin students come to such parks for seeking pleasure. Such things should be avoided.

    Dear Gabbuji...
What Hot-Spots? Like on 'Bat' in DRS system in cricket?? Then where should Romance Bloom?? In Town Hall?
What Bushes and Dark Areas? See...You were once young weren't you? 'Bushes' happen where the young frequent..that's all.
    Now Now..Obscenity is one thing
which should be prevented at all costs.Kadri Park, I think was becoming (in) famous for that.
Everything that is hygenic and within limits should be allowed.
If Parks are not for holding hands and humming a few romantic tunes ...why should they be there? For eating ground-nuts?? They can be eaten anywhere you see...
Lobo Maam..Maximize welfare and well being of all through these
initiations. A Park should be a Park and should be a Park..where everybody can 'Park' their woes and indulge a bit , be it recreation ,exercise or rediscovering one-self.
